"Why do FF's always contain cliches?"

Why???

For example, you often have a section where the game stops for a whle and resumes a year or more later (FF6) or a character who suddenly ages several years (FF4) or somethign else out of time?

And also, why is it that most of them contain a guy called Cid, usually an Airship Captain?

Lastly, they usually contain a "two arms and a body" Boss. For example:

Baigan (FF4)
Inferno (FF6)
Penance (FF10)

Why are these cliches present?

A cliche in a Final Fantasy game would be the Characters having spiky hair, for example.

Didn't fly it, that was Brother's job, but he was in charge, hence the captain. The person who flies the airship doesn't make them the captain.

Hardly clichés, really.

Again, not a cliché, it's something present only in the FF games.

.....isn't that the normal ratio? Two arms: one body? How many arms do you have?
