He is right, Madden 2004 is definitely the best sports game of the year/ever.
I wish it was September and 2005 would come out and the NFL would start up again.

So that must mean I've actually won a VIP ticket then?

Wow. Haven't been e-mailed about it though.

Anyway, here's how I voted:

People's Choice Award
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

Most Wanted
DRIV3R

Best Newcomer
Viewtiful Joe

Action Game of the Year
Unreal Tournament 2004

Best Multiplayer Game
Mario Kart: Double Dash!!

Adventure Game of the Year
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

Best Pocket Game
Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising

Racing Game of the Year
F-Zero GX

Best Use of a Licence
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Sports Game of the Year
Pro Evolution Soccer 3

Glaring absences were Half-Life 2 in the most wanted section, Mario Party 5 for best multiplayer, Jedi Academy for best use of a licence, Mario & Luigi: SS for best pocket game, Soul Calibur 2 for best action, and the People's Choice award could have had a few alterations too.

Was undecided on best newcomer, between Call of Duty and Viewtiful Joe. Also couldn't make my mind up in the racing game category, out of PGR2 and F-Zero GX.

Nominations were on the whole, fairly crap, but fingers crossed the awards are just and games like Enter the Matrix and NFSU are well and truly ignored.

I was told I'd won a VIP ticket after I voted. I gave 'em my address and apparently it's now on its way.

Bit confused - is this a scam or something? Can't really believe I have a VIP ticket winging its way to me, somehow. Happen to anyone else?

Actually, thinking about this, what the hell is 'best newcomer' anyway? These are all awards for games out in the last year, so they are all new!

I wonder how they'll pick Britain's best gamer this year, one round of Monkey Fight perhaps?

What's up with these stupid awards?

No Rainbow Six 3 and no Mario Kart in the racing category. Oh and they had the stupidity to put Medal of Honor : Rising Sun in the Adventure catergory.

I'm guesing this years programme will be another bunch of Z grade celebrity pr-cks, trying to show everyone that they 'don't really play computer games' because they're too cool for that.
