Zanmato takes the fun out of it what I did was break my health and Mp limit getting them both up to 99,000 and just kicked his ass normally with some help from my summons especially Bahamut and the Magus Sisters then booya! Done all of the Dark Summons there nothing special.

I can usually get Zanmato for a nice budget price, say I've got 150,000, it only costs about ... 10,000 gil for a Zanmato to kill Valefor.

The simplest way is to use Yuna's Grand Summon, and summon Yojimbo, this will give him a max overdrive, then pay him a decent amount of money and he will perform zanmato for you. The zanmato move will kill any enemy in one hit!
Obvioulsy you have to get Yuna's overdrive to the full before you can access Grand Summon.
