Well, as always when I go to get something electrical, I always come back with more than I bargained with. This time it was an ATI all-in wonder 128 AGP card (try saying that when you're drunk!)
Could I get the blasted thing to work? Nope, it decided to have a little fun and hang windows instead. Well, it's probably the other (on board) graphics card that's doing it, but I've lost the manual and can't find a jumper to turn it off. So I spent last night trawling through endless system.ini files and setups in a bid to get the card working with my PC. hrmph.
If I'm on the net tonight, it's because I've fixed it or given up and re-installed the drivers on my old card. Otherwise it will be an update tomorrow.
Wish me luck!
Well all know why you got one then pb!!
:-)
The software will allow you to edit and recut your video, adding effects as you go.
I was going to get one, or are they *really* bad?
> I would wish you good luck but you bought a crap card
Gamewise, I'd agree. Although it's better than my TNT 8mb card. I don't really play too many PC games though, as I have 4 consoles and prefer my emulators too. I bought it for video and rendering functions, it's a very fast card for these and it also speeds windows up in 2d as well.
a) it makes me back everything up, something I'm usually not good at making myself do.
b) It means all that crap on the hard drive gets wiped. No matter how good your uninstaller and clean up progs are, there's always a load of crap it misses.
Whoooo Style! - Yes, you're right about the onboard graphics, but I didn't realise this until it was too late. The sticker on the case said AGP TNT card, so I thought it would be a nice simple AGP card, but it's a mixture of a riser card and some sort of on-board gubbins.
The modem I've got inside my PC is a standard 56k v90, but I'm getting an ISDN connection next friday, so I got a USB ISDN modem.
Oh well. Back to it at 6pm tonight!
what speed was your last modem?????
only joking mate, good luck.
I hate when that happens, regular basis for me :D
