I know this may seem like a number of things, all bad towards me, but it's something I can't get my head around.
But newbies seem concerned that they are percieved as newbies. At least with this system they feel that as soon as they get the number of posts and words, then they are regulars.
Most of them don't realise that it doesn't actually work like that.
There are some regulars I look at as newbies, and there are some newbies I look at as regulars. I imagine it's the same for you as well.

Basically, you are either a newbie or a regular, there are no notables. It has nothing to do with stats, or how long you've been here. The best writers are regulars, and the others are newbies. As simple as that.
Er-no and Shppey were at the top, seperated by 1 vote if I remember rightly, and I can't really remember the rest.
I get the feeling this Notable election won't be all that close.
There are about...2, maybe 3 that could win it.
One person I am sure will get most of the votes from the 'old' regulars.
Although, the 'new' regulars may vote differently. So I could be wrong.
No vote
No census
No conferring
Once you're a notable, that's it, there's nothing else to aim for.
*FM considers getting his 'FM's Brain' alter-ego up to notable status*
*FM goes off to play Chu Chu Rocket on his Dreamcast instead, before his sister collects it*
Oldie regulars, like me, goatboy, wookiee, pb, shanks etc don't really mention it.
I think the newbie-regulars want to get votes so they feel that theif contribution to the forums are noted. They want to get votes so they feel that they are doing well.
Oldie regulars don't seem to bothered, probably because we know each other (well, kind of) and we respect each others writings without having to vote for them.
Also, most of the 'oldies' were here before the newbie, regular, notable system was set up, so we don't really see any difference.
Of course, I could be wrong.

I am very pleased that I did not campaign to become notable. Tony set up a 'vote er-no HQ' but that was nothing to do with me!
