Every year they leave the competition crying... Nintendo truly rule the E3 games show ever year... and then they top that with their Spaceworld show a few months later.
Not last year. Not content on being the second year without a Spaceword, Nintendo also showed us a massive selection of "not too appealing" titles. Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, a game unveiled a few weeks before was shown, the Zelda four swords games was unleashed as was Pacman Vs. and erm Metal Gear Solid. But overall, bar the collection of Pokemon titles... we were all feeling empty for the first E3 ever.
Can Nintendo make up for it this year?
How can't they?
Nintendo confirmed LAST YEAR that Wind Waker 2 (which will probably be released this year in Japan) will be shown in PLAYABLE form. Metroid Prime 2 will almost certainly be there in playable form. Of course Resident Evil 4 will be unleashed once again as will Killer 7. Not enough? English versions of Pikmin 2, Donkey Konga and Wario Ware will also be there. And maybe Mario? Unlikely but not impossible.
Then of course there are the third party exclusive's we've all heard about but never seen. Super Monkey Ball 3: Bannana Crazy would be greatly appreciated as would Final Fantasy: Guilty Wing... which judging on the fun factor and originality of Crystal Chronicles will sure to rule no matter what sort of game it is. Expect Silicon Knights to show their next game after Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes... and maybe we'll finally see Mario Tennis.
So with that in mind and not to mention the unveiling of the DS and a few games.... how can Nintendo not have a good E3 this year.
I cannot wait. Can you?

That's my point though... the third person view would be as a sorta camera angle rather than a gameplay perspective.
I will pick up my legs in a minute.
First Person gives you the widest view of what's straight ahead.
Third Person doesn't give you such a good view in one direction, but gives you a fair view of what's to your left, right, behind... etc.
So when you're side stepping an enemy, you'd know where you're dodging into (you ever side stepped an enemy into a pool of lava? :-D). Also, because you can judge your jumps better, you could even jump over them!
So First Person would be better for long range targeting, and Third Person for short range skirmishes. Have both views and have the best of both worlds! ;-)
I hope to see Skies but don't hold your breath :)
Maybe we'll see more of that virtual fighter RPG.
I'm not sure a third person mode will allow you to get a wider scope of the surrounding areas.

A little sea wouldn't hurt, so long as it doesn't DOMINATE the game. :-)

But...
That's the worst of both worlds!
The whole point is that looking is best with First Person (so you use it to stop and look) while moving it better in Third Person (because you can get a better view of where you are and what's around you).
A proper third person mode would make all the difference.
You could use the morph ball properly without a camera change jolting the smooth gameplay, you could do some proper platforming, maybe some cool moves...
And dodging enemies would come into it's own with the lock on.
It would be like Turbo Zelda with Mario moves and massive guns...

That would make it REALLY hot property if it was 7...

:-)
It will only really rock for me though if Skies of Arcadia 2 is announced. For GameCube. Availiable in Europe. This year.
In my dreams..

We'll see if it is set on land or if it includes similar characters... new areas etc... in fact thinking about the next PROPER Zelda game is getting me pretty excited.

Rumour has it you can now view things from a third person view but, like moving to first person views in platformers... can't actually play the game from this perspective.

Good point we'll see that as well.
It's only when people get a full version will they be able to see what Nintendo did with the adventure this time.
In Metroid Prime 2 we'll see if they DID make it third person. :-)
What's Final Fantasy: Guilty Wing?
Crystal Chronical's follow up? Or a new one?
Finally...
Where's Starfox?
The Namco one, where?
