I have a request - it's a bit of a strange, but needy request - please help me out here!!!
I really cannot cram my reviews into the review slot - I need to say ARGHOOWWWWW and write a massive review here - so I am calling upon your good successful and respected self - and as you are in the SR maffia, please set aside one day in the month of August 1st week of august where a special thread can be opened here in classic FOG prime so that reviews exceeding the 4000 character limit can be posted - the best review in that thread winning one of the gads for that day - please please please!!
I am getting withdrawal systems man!!!

Long reviews won't always be read, apparently it's the short and sharp ones that get people to buy games, so that's what SR want to show.
But Dan2K1 clearly likes to write long reviews.
The best situation may to to write the review as you like, and post the review elsewhere, somewhere that will allow long reviews, such as DooYou?, then post an abridged version as an SR review?

Even computer game magazines use more than 4,000 characters. Most reviews now-a-days are spread across 2, 3 even 4 pages. I know a lot of space is taken up by large pictures but there is still alot of writing. I think that the review length should be increased to about 6,000 to 8,000. The most recent reviews i have written i've had to write it in Word (as my spelling is pants) then i have to proof read it and cut out bits of text, a lot of which i think is valid and the review suffers from these cuts. At least consider expanding the number of characters you can use.

Furthermore, if you ever wish to progress into games journalism (as I can remember someone here saying - though I really can't imagine why. Rubbish pay and no job security AT ALL - in fact, just no work at all at the moment - stupid Future and their stupid tumbling share price) then you will have to work to VERY tight boundaries with review length. May as well get used to it now.
Well when you write your reviews on paper(if you do that) I try to write about 2 and a half pages and that usually is enough.
Review are not really meant to be too long, I mean some magasine reviews are only about 10 sentances or so.
