"Why do people copy then put something small"

Why do people copy loads of nicely written post then just put a weady little comment @ the bottom, i really hate that, because the person put loads of effort in to it then some one else just copy's (some people may of seen me do this in my "just arrived", "Newbie" days im sorry for what i did) but just a couple of days ago Kid Rock who i don't like, i would say bad words about him but won't, i write a thing on Feeder it was first posted by SK and he copyed it all then deleted Thanks for Reading Long and but thanks for reading kidrock i mean theres got to be something like a law against it some people just copy but he put credit to jim i jsut think hes sad he doesn't even like feeder, tell me what u think?

I was going to do the same as you pb. But you beat me to it.

Longy, you were one of the worst offenders for doing exactly that.

You and Kidrock spent over a week copying each other's posts, stupidly long ones in an attempt to bump up your word count.

Check your stats, the number of words against the number of posts you made.
I dont really care, but don't start attacking others when you are one the worst for this.

Yeah, I [post fairly regularly but limited due to my time consuming labour work but I don't mind having a 'newbie' stat. Having a regular stat does not make you more popular, important or even give you a greater chance of winning a prize. What's the point?

Yeah that's cool - i do that all the time. It's just some others copy 30+ lines of text only to add some useless comment at the end, and it just clutters up the page unnecessarily. Its one of my little pet hates on these forums. Along with Spurs and Man U fans.

Longy, I think he was trying to agree with you. Hit the "Reply Quoting This Message" button and see what happens. He simply added his comment (something like "Feeder r cool" and then his sig, from memory).

It is of use if you want to respond to a comment someone made a long way down the list of messages. Without it your post would seem out of context as people would expet it to relate to the post below. As long as you clip the post down to the bare minimum, so people get the idea without having to pull down the whole message again, then I can't see a problem with it.

There's one newbie around at the moment who constantly does this. He even copies posts he's already written himself and then adds a couple of words on the end...
The newbies quest for regularness means cutting corners and annoying people unfortunately.
