My joys as a newbie.

I have newly turned into a regular and I thought that I would use my writing skills and write my joys as a newbie.

I was very excited on my first day seeing that I could win games for writing a good post or a review. Yes I thought, yes I can do this. So filled in the registration and thought of a nickname and tagline and sent it away to SR HQ. I had my password at the ready and I logged on for the first time.

After looking around I found a topic and I contributed, it was probably something about console wars and my post was something like this “I rekon dat da n64 will win coz I rekon it has beta gamez then everyfink out there”

Yes I know, SPAG!!

After talking to DeltaJava and looking at everyone else’s post’s I decided to write in English, not text language. I did have a lot of flak about my SPAG in my earlier days but now I have corrected my SPAG and I write in word. No more spelling mistakes ;)

The days went on and I had posted a couple of reviews and maybe started a few topics but I had seen what happened to newbies who started discussions, they were slaughtered. Then the old one came up about all newbies being waste and were not really allowed to start topics because whatever they wrote was not even worth using your energy to look at their topics and posts. My argument was “what were you before you became a beloved regular?” Yes point taken I think.

I have tried not to make many enemies keeping a light hearted view on everything and everyone and tried to use my humour too good extent; all in all I think it has worked.

I do have a few Do’s and Don’ts for upcoming regulars

1.Do not come on here when in a bad mood.

2.Do not start multiple discussions about nothing it only ends in tears for the newbie.

3.Do not write words that you don’t understand. Also check your work after a long post.

4.Do write in proper English not text language e.g. “da Final Fantasy series is da best in da world I ave eva seen, cuz of gr8 players and it just rulez da world” It should be “The Final Fantasy series is the best series I have ever seen! With a great plot and amazing graphics it is surely the best game in the universe.

5.Do not Write Every Word Using A Capital Letter It Is A Waste Of Time And You Will Get Flak For It.

6.Do use humour in your posts and put in lots of smiley faces (not over the top mind) ;) :) :-) ;-) :-> and the such, you know how it goes.

7.Do not post many one word posts, try to keep your word count up.

8.Do not Spam.

9.Do not complain if you don’t win GAD or FAD take it in your stride.

10.Do not be racist in anyway because Tony or someone from the SR “cru” will pick up on it and you will earn your self a serious telling off or even a banning.

Please try to stick to these rules as best you can.

My time as a newbie has been good fun bar the stick about SPAG and the newbie trouble still I hope a can be a good regular and maybe even a notable. Some of the topics have made me laugh like a hyena and Grix’s or one of the notables topic about his life was a very gripping true life story which made me think so hard that my brain was on the point of explosion.

If you see one of Grix’s stories or anyone else’s for that matter (Ant, Sheepy, Meka, Turbonutter are just some to mention) in chat or in Long Amusing stories please take time to read it. 5 minutes of your time and you will have read one of the best stories in your life. Sometimes he or other people leave the story so you can contribute, if this happens do not post a contribution unless you are sure other dedicated story writers will approve of it.

Enjoy your time on the forums and I hope this has helped you on your way.

Thanks for reading

Gas.

ok sorry its on 00 agent.

I haven't played for ages, trying to complete Perfect Dark.

Im up to G5 building on secret Agent I have just left out Skedar Ruins. Playing it at night on your own is scary. Those Skedar scream, and I do have stains in my pants ;)

Yea I know a bit embarrassing, I have completed up too silo on 007 agent. Then I gave up, silo is not one of my good levels. You know there is some that you like and some that you really hate. Well silo is one that I hate.

My original post was sort of a GAD attempt but I don’t think it will win. I could of done better. But who knows.

Pff, that's embarrassing to say. Just backtrack a few steps when you hear a Skedar decloaking. And if you must, go to ign.com and read one the guide there.

I haven't posted my PD review yet because I have a policy of not finishing it until I've completed the game. that's why my imminent goldeneye review still hasn't finished yet - I just completed Egyptian on 00 Agent.

Have you posted your Perfect Dark review yet? and could you help me with the last level on agent, I still can't do it. Those cloaked monster things always get me.

12. Edit out the word 'write' from my previous post to let it make more sense.
