Charlie Simpson a seven-year-old boy from west London has raised more than £lots for the Haiti earthquake relief effort by organising a charity cycle ride.
Every pound counts. I've just given a tenner but it all helps...

I understand what you mean, expect the parents did a lot of the hard work in organising it all!
What 7 year old thinks of that on their own? My poor little nephew thinks about chocolate and the Wii only :D
He should be honoured or something, but at the same time it isn't just him alone. The people behind the scenes (his parents etc) should be thanked too I think. The whole thing has done quite well.
Sounds like I'm trying to put him down or something but I'm not. It's an amazing achievement. Just a lot of other work must have gone it to it by others aswell :D
I'm not trying to take anything away from him of course.
Donations have slowed up considerably over the last few days - but thanks to a generous £800 this afternoon Charlie's broken the £200k barrier!
Pretty good for a little lad :¬)
Bet he's well chuffed!

[s]Hmmm...[/s] Reading comments from various sources it seems that 'Charlie' has made people DO SOMETHING.
They hadn't made a donation by visiting the official dec.org.uk or similar, but were inspired by Charlie so have donated via him.
It seems lots of people have been meaning to make a donation but needed a bit of a push to do it...
JustGiving do take 5% but when you read their fees info it seems fair enough. As they go to the trouble of claiming Gift Aid they still make more money than most fund raisers would manage.
Nothing's perfect but it works for me!
