Mark Wahlberg is a very capable actor - not seen Boogie Nights? Three Kings? I'd be far more worried about Michael Clarke Duncan as if he is given any roll other than "big guy with big heart" he could be really stuck.

Ok I just need to add something here. I've just watched the trailer again as I downloaded it a while ago and it is one of the best trailers I have seen in a long time.

I can't wait to see it. I saw the trailer when I went to see Jurassic Park 3 and it looks absolutely brilliant. I saw the first film years ago and I used to watch the series on Sunday mornings. I was very, very young alright.

:)

Oh, in fact, there is one major problem with the film. The main guy is Mark Wahlberg. NOOOOO!!!! I hate him. I despise him. He can't act and his voice is so annoying. Oh well, at least Tim Roth, Michael Clarke Duncan and Kris Kristofferson are in it to cancel out his appallingness.

However, if no-one in the film says 'get your hands off me you filthy ape' I'll be disappointed...

I saw it at a preview screening.

It is fantastic. I won't ruin it with spoilers, but Burton has not "re-made" it as such, but told the basic story his own way.

Tim Roth rules as the Ape Boss, Marky Mark runs about a lot and Helenha Bonham Carter is pure monkey.

And yes, Snuggly, it's about time we had a decent monkey movie.

actually in some ways it isn't better if you saw the original....cos then you'll know essentially what happens apart from the ending .....

well i ain't seen the original and i don't plan to either....

Its not really a remake though, is it. The ending is suposedly different. I've been trying to avoid too much news on it as I'd like to go into the cinema blind, but I've still managed to pick up the different ending.

I'm shaking at the idea of a good film about monkeys.
