I agrea with you Goatboy all 70's films are cool, because that was the golden time of the affros and goatys.
I think it's just a label used.
I like Shaft and Superfly, Foxy Brown..most of those 70's movies because they're good fun.
They have a black character as a hero, funky, funky music, excellent "jive" dialogue..just a superb genre of movies.
The remake of Shaft sucked, simply because Shaft is, and of itself, a classic movie that defined an age.

Don't like Shaft much - don't rate it at all. Also fail to see how people can label it as a Blaxplotation pic. The fact that certain characters in the film are black seems totally inconsequential and has nothing to do with their situation or how they are treated.
