Anything from their early, grungy metal to their present upbeat / uplifting rock. They have contributed to Rock music things that other bands can only dreaming of. By writing their own lyrics and music, only doing live performences and playing their own instruments they put teeniebopper favourite's "S Club 7" in their place.
Having added numerous awards worldwide including "Greatest Heavy Metal Band Album of 1997" for their debut full album "Polythene."
Named the best Live band around, they overwhelm onlookers at festivals and concerts worldwide including in Japan, U.S.A, Germany, Italk, France, Spain and of course, The U.K.
No matter what mood, circumstance or emotional condition you're in, there's always a Feeder song to suit your situation. From the uplifting catchiness of Top 5 hit "Buck Rogers" to the moving and inspirational "Yesterday Went Too Soon."
Whether you like Rock, Pop, Metal, Indie, or Nu Metal, Feeder has a place in their Kingdom for you, and your dinner table is waiting for you to be uplifted by the bands amazing musical talent.
To summarise... God Save Feeder.
More Feeder-age please
I saw Insomnia last night on Kerrang and it bought back fond "Yesterday day went too soon" memories...
"...We're climbing up the walls
Clutching at short straws
Waving to be seen
Holding on to dreams
Stop living in disguise
Can't cover up my eyes
A new solution's here
Don't watch it disappear...
...We could always fly into a coloured sky
I think that I've arrived in techni-coloured style
I'm turning upside down, float into the ground
It's alright..."

They're certainly not who I ever talk about. It's just that A) this is a FEEDER thread, and B) most people don't care about the bands that I like because nobody's ever heard of them, I like a lot of "underground" music.
"Will I feel it anymore?
As a child, as I grow old,
It's the only way I see,
Open up, let it be...
I wanna be here!
You don't know, cause you don't see it
I wanna be here, I see the face
Look back and then it calls to me
I feel it, so let it go..."

Totally agree with you mate. I don't mind people not liking Feeder, I probably don't like a lot of the bands they listen to, but it's just mindless slating that goes on, like "feeder are crap," or "they write bad songs." Firstly, there's no such thing as a bad band (except hear'say) because someone is bound to like them, and also, their lyrics are very inspiring and/or moving. Go listen to "Tomorrow Shine," "Dry" and "Sweet 16."
And on the note about there being college bands better than them, you go do the guitar solo from the live version of Shade!
There's probably more than a 1000 student/sixth form bands that
> produce the same, or better, quality guitar based music than Feeder.
There probably are, but where do you think most bands were at the bottom of the line? All of us haven't heard 'that college band yet' but when we do there will be fans, just like SK and feeder.

Thats what I have found out with Far, the more I found out the more I enjoyed it all.
Sure hearing the same things you think were ok at first will get boring but songs you know all the words to, all the music to, the songs that really do stick in your mind and are seen as classics in there will never really get boring. Just like those timeless classic's of your own.
Sure you can listen to other bands but none of those bands will have such an impact.
