Yeah, I know I'm supposed to be an expert, but I'm rusty.

Besides, I need all your expertise on this one.

Whenever I play a top difficulty computer player, if I throw or fire a projectile at them then they can effortlessly reflect it in my face using the standard shield (so it's not like Zelda or Fox's special reflector, it's standard shield).

But I spent ages on training trying to do the same trick, but couldn't...
Is the computer cheating or am I doing it wrong?
I'm trying to shield last minute but it either shields it without reflecting or hits me. Can it be done.
I think I remember pulling it off when I was first playing it, but that was nearly 2 years ago! :-S

So have any of you mastered this trick?

PS. I'm thinking of challenging those Gamesville guys...
Anyone fancy taking me on on a face off?
The winner gets to take on those presenters! :D

Your Opponents: Bowser, Ganondorf, and Mewtwo (all on Level 9 and on a team against you)
Your Character: Pichu (It damages itself when using special moves and electric attacks)
The Arena: Brinstar (When the acid rises really high, you only have one platform to stand on)

Also, make it a Stock Battle with 1 life. Turn Team Attack and all Items off. You'll get no help in this battle.

Falco is the best.

And I can beat my brother's plus a level 9 all in a team, provided I'm not playing in a crappy stage like Mute City.

And my brothers are better than level 9 computers....

Well, event 51 was harder, because one of them was a giant. :-)

And also it was lives, so you get to get three times as many KO's as they did between them. With points, if you KO just 2 of them for each of your falls then you've whupped them.

But yeah, I'll give that Melée one a go. :-)

I was talking about 3 Comps on a team against you on Level 9. Quite hard unless you know what you're doing.

3 comps are easier because you can let them beat the hell out of each other before taking the points with cheap shot.

If you're talking teams then that's a tougher cookie. :-)
I've beaten event 51 a several times? Shouldn't that say it all? :-) (they were tougher than your average compie players).
And gotten a score of 19 on Cruel Melée! :-P

But at the end of the day it means nothing on your skills on human opponents.

Why?

Because despite their instant reactions and perfect timing, computer players are retarded.
The best example is on the N64 version when you got to Pikachu in the single player version. You could have him killing himself just by standing on a platform and letting him accidently tripple jump and fall down. I used to get a fortune in points for the "pacifist" award! :-D

The Gamecube opponents aren't as dumb, but they still lack human cunning.

And Gamesville is a Sky Games show, presented by two "with it" presenters.
Not bad gaming knowledge for casuals but you can tell they passed the audition on "personality". There are some proper experts on the show though, who get a say.

I'm not talking about the Guru there, but that guy is funny! :-D

That doesn't count!

That was an accidental fluke! :-P

I managed to do it properly a couple of times, but only in training.
Because I needed to controller the "dummy" to shoot at me (for me to deflect), I was actually doing it one handed! ;-D

I was facing Mewtwo once. It tried to attack me with its Shadow Ball. While it was charging the attack, I put up my shield. The Shadow Ball didn't work. Instead, it bounced off of the side of my shield.
