A) Stop at a garage, buy a few munchies, and snack a little.
B) Stop at a fast food place, go in sit down and eat.
C) Use drive-thru, stay in your car, and eat.
You're feeling like you want to finish a game, what do you do:
A) Pick up a game from your collection that your close to the end of, and battle through the last of it.
B) Pick up a game that your stuck on, and try to figure out the problem or beat the challenge, then continue on to the end.
C) Buy a new game and a walkthrough to go with it, so you can reach the end quickly.
Anyone choose C for either option?
Yes? Then you are lazy.
You chose C for both? Lazy, no challenge, junk food eating freak!
I've never understood the appeal of the walkthrough, or why anyone woulld buy one at the same time as they buy a game!
I don't see the harm in using one to help you when you're really stuck, but if you're just using it to stop your brain from doing any work, then why not just sit in front of the TV instead? That way only one hand will be occupied, as you flick between the soaps and Big Brother, wondering why you feel so empty.
The much hated NOM used to give away game guides on the cover each month. These would always be of the latest releases, so you could buy a new game, and have the walkthrough waiting at home for you.
You could just follow the insturctions, and get to the end. But where's the challenge? Where's the sense of achievement? Surely those no feeling of superiority here. You haven't beaten the game. You haven't worked out the devilishly cunning puzzles. You haven't searched every nook and cranny for that hidden item, or exit reflected in the mirror. Some one else has done it for you, and you've just done the monkey work!
Ha! Shame on you!
If you're doing DIY, then look at the walkthrough. It's never fun, it's just a matter of necessity, get it out of the way as soon as possible. If you're treating your games the same way, why bother?
Now to find that Square would only be too happy to bring their adventures over the the Gamecube with Nintendo stubbonly telling them to sod off.
All this because Square released FF7, 8, 9 and 10 on Playstation formats and refused to attempt stuffing a 2600MB of adventure into a 30MB.
Grow up Nintendo. We want a nice alternative to Zelda you know!
> not to mention their automatic cars...
Thats a bit rude... I'm sure they are very nice people :)

Square are the best. ff8 is an excellent game. No-one gives

Games like Buldurs Gate(2) are good examples that you do need game guides because games like these can be compleated without you having to do everything, once you've finished you may want to know what you have missed, so you buy a walk-thru.
However I do know what you mean about compleating a game on your own, you feel good about yourself, feel like you can take on the world.

I haven't had the pleasure of playing any of the FF games for long, though have played bits of FF8, as my brother has it, and I thought it was great.
But I like that kind of thing, Square make some top RPG's!
