These words are really from my mum, as she's looking to get a new computer, since we've had this terrible XP one for years now, and we need an upgrade, but she's not to sure what to buy, and doesn't want to go to a store where a staff member will try and palm her off with some stupid expensive thing. So i'm hoping some users can recommend some computers that suit our needs (which i'll list below).

-Windows 7
-Storage (my dad puts loads of photos onto the computer, and also does some geneology. Also for saving music etc.)
-Security (my mum is really adamant about security, using online banking etc.)
-Speed (anythings going to be faster than our heap of junk we currently have).

Price range we're looking at here is around £500. Needs to be a desktop PC (tower and monitor). Overall, just a modern pc that's going to last for awhile!

Sorry to be so specific and ask so much, but any suggestions or just advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

Haven't had chance to seriously look TBH.PCSpecialists option probably seems the best choice as the system I would really like could do with being a little out of the norm (kickass processor and RAM,firewire port,Wireless card and 2 Hard drives). That's not the cheapest option but the one I would like to go for if funds allow.I'm in no rush as the last few weeks I wouldn't of had time to play about with it anyway.Pre-builts from e-buyer seem the cheapest option for anyone after a standard powerful home PC that's why I mentioned them to Chris, not sure there ideal for what I really wanted though.

Soz pete, couldn't remember which of you asked - but glad we sorted that out - you made a decision yet?

Think pb or pete were asking the same question in another thread earlier. However, you could always look here:

PCSpecialist

and configure your own or select one of their ready-built models. Have bought from them before and can thoroughly recommend them.
