What do you think about the nuclear defence shild thing that George bush is so keen on? I think it would only work if everyone had it. The no one would fire missles at anyone else cos they would be shot down. if just the americans or a few contries the other contries will feel very vunereable. The might just plant a nuclear device in a city. Its probly best if the plan was scrubbed.

The U.S. need defence against ICBMs from not just Russia, but all the third-world countries that have now developed nuclear weapon capability. It's easy enough to do, there are probably sites on the web that tell you how to build an atomic weapon.
Previously the only problem was getting hold of weapons grade plutonium, but most countries in the world are managing to get hold of it, so there is a valid threat that U.S. citizens need to be protected from.
It would be great if we could get rid of atomic weapons and warfare altogether, but when you consider that there have only been 40 years of peace in total over the last 2000 years, that isn't going to happen in a hurry.
At least this is a defensive deterrent, not an offensive one, and I think that this is the lesser of the two evils, therefore it's a good thing in that respect.
