I hate MSN! I hate Hotmail... you all wait, they are thinking about charging you £5 a month to use hotmail!
HA HA! Yahoo is much better and always has been! Easy, simple and effective!
The new look hotmail is horrible, what are they trying to do? Impress us?
SHUT UP GATES
The new look hotmail
> is horrible, what are they trying to do? Impress us?
So you must have used it to know it looks horrible and that it's crap? Surely you wouldn't comment on something that you hadn't had first hand experience of?
Also, had it not crossed your mind that Gates probably doesn't have any input to Hotmail? That maybe, as the company is so LARGE AND SUCCESSFUL, that it maybe split into different sections?
> Is it possible to use Hotmail with Outlook Express?
Yep... in fact Outlook Express has features buit in specifically for accessing Hotmail accounts...
----
Heres how...
On the Tools menu, click Accounts.
In the Internet Accounts dialog box, click the Add button.
Select either Mailto open the Internet Connection Wizard, and then follow the instructions to establish a connection with a mail or news server.
(NEXT)
Enter your desired mailing name
(NEXT)
Enter either your hotmail address, or select 'create new account from [Hotmail]' option
(NEXT)
Select HTTP as you incomming Server
Select HOTMAIL as your HTTP Mail service provider
(NEXT)
Enter account name and details
(also tick 'remember password' option, otherwise it will keep asking you for it everytime you want to collect your mail)
(NEXT)
(FINISH)
and you should have your hotmail account setup in Outlook Express...

yeah... Getting Hotmail to work on Outlook is really annoying...
I went to Microsoft when I was trying to figure it out... The best they could offer was a work around...
Its really dodgy that they stick IE with every Windows OS, MSM with Office... but cant get Hotmail to work with their own Mail Client?!
Anyway... the only way to do it...
From the menu bar select File -> Folder -> New Folder
(or press ctrl + shift + E)
The 'create new folder window' will now open.
In the Name of the Folder (Like Your Honors Hotmail)
In the 'Folder Contains' options bar select 'Mail Items'
Select where you want the folder to be (I've got mine as a sub-folder of the Inbox)
Select OK
Add or dont add a shortcut to your outlook bar (which ever you prefer... I'd reccomend you do (see further down for details))
---
Now, from the menubar select Tools -> Folder List
Right click your newly created Hotmail folder and select properties
Within the properties window select the 'HomePage' tab
Enter 'www.hotmail.com' as the 'address'
Not forgetting to tick the 'Show Home Page By Default For This Folder' option.
---
This means from now on whenever you click on the folder you will be brought to the Hotmail Homepage.
Now next time you log into Hotmail, on the screen where you type in your username and password, select the 'Dont Log Me Out' option... As long as you dont select 'Log out'/'sign out' option, you will keepped looged in indefinitly
Everytime you want to check your Hotmail, just click onto your hotmail folder (which is why its best to have a shortcut on your outlook bar), you will automatically be conncected and logged into your account
