"Have a nice day -ba-bap ba-bap-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba"
'Yes, yes I will have a nice day', I thought, and switched the radio off.
This band used to mean something to me. Their songs said something that I wanted to hear, they were making music that I enjoyed listening to. It seemed to have emotion - songs like More Life in A Tramps Vest and Local Boy In The Photograph’.
But now, they just don't sound the same. The songs sound too forced, and all of the meaning has gone.
It seems like they were storytellers that have run out of stories.
Why does this happen to a band? Can't they move on, progress? Why do I lose interest in them?

Radiohead - OK Computer an album that spoke about the 90s, then promptly turned left and got lost up their own pipe.
Stereophonics - I used to like them too, 1st album was superb. Then heard the "have a nice day" and the other one about critics being nasty to them "Mr Writer.." Turning into Status Quo.
I think there is a danger that a band does something, it sells, they like this and do the same old thing time after time after time.
Having said that, at least Radiohead are constantly breaking new ground. Whether it's any good or not isn't the point, they're doing something different.
Oh and my brothers going to their concert in Cardiff.
> Like Blink 182, who are now, in my opinion, crap.
When, in your opinion, did they turn crap? Enema of the State? Take Off... or before both those albums?
But Take off Your Pants and Jacket just wasn't my thing.
Maybe their next album will appeal to me more.
On a different note, I found out what "Enema" means yesterday :-D
:-)
> Yeah, makes you like at the title in a completely different light
> doesn't it!
:-)
It certainly does!
It also sheds light on what Homer meant when he was buying that illeagal firework
"One of those porno mags, box of condoms, Some illegal fireworks and one of those disposable enemas... Nah, make it two."
:-D
And Goatboy lay off Radiohead :D. I do agree though 'The Bends' and 'Ok Computer' are the best... I have a feeling they are going back to that style with their new stuff. How do I know? On B-side of Pyramid Song its that kind of style and they have said they are going that way again.
