I don't recall actually saying you bought it, pedantic I know but what the hell.

Never did I think I'd live to see the day when Delta Force would be considered as Tactical Shooters. The very idea is just ridiculous.

actualy i didnt buy it at all
it came free with my 9800 pro because special reserve packed the wrong game.

And exactly - realism. That's what makes it such a good game in my opinion,
It's not hard to run around levels collecting over the top weapons and health packs every time you get hit and shooting thousand of moronic aliens, games like Vietcong are more challenging, thinking men’s games that require you to work with your AI team-mates, get to learn the terrain and makes use of each of the weapons advantages and disadvantages.
Judging by your horrendous spelling and punctuation though Dark Child, I'm going to assume this is one of the first Tactical Shooters you've played, either that or your just really crap at it. It's not an easy game but it's not exactly the hardest either. I suggest you stick with the likes of Serious Sam and take my advice, get a dictionary while you’re at it.
it ofen causes your computer to crash (and i foudn out it wasent just my computer
and when you shoot its realistic, thats means if ure gun appears to be aimed at sum1 u still only have a 10/90 chance of hitting (with your chance of hitting being the 10), if u crouch it becomes a a bit better
than half the time when ure shot was on target the enemy dodges at the last second.
this is made worse by the realistic shot effects (head and body = death, leg shots slow you down ect)

The level seemed to kick in when I was just about to give up on the game, I remember the first few levels where a bit dull, countless patrols and those bloody annoying tunnels but as soon as the action kicked in the game really began to shine though the disappointing first half.

I never really like the expansion as much. Some nice new missions and I liked the whole prequel thing where you got to see the base camp being built up, but it was far too short and had a disappointing last mission. Looking forward to Vietcong 2 though, I just hope they make it as good all the way through as they did the second half of the original game.

Same.
It's a great game.
I bought the expansion recently, but it seems to screw everything up, which is completely weird...
Anyway, yeah. It's a great game. And I too bought it on impulse, though after watching Full Metal Jacket.
The first few levels are a bit bland but the later levels make up for this. My favourite is the charging up a hill rescuing downer helicopter crews to take out an enemy base on the top. Pretty exciting stuff.
