In the build up to E3 2004, SEGA have let out a press release to members of the industry set to attend E3. A section of it reads:
"Mark your calendars for a 'mystery briefing' event in Sega of America's E3 Room. This is your opportunity to hear the latest 2004 title announcements from company executives in addition to some explosive news - something even you won't be able to guess!"

Let the rumours circulate. People suggest, among other things, a Nintendo takeover, a Microsoft takever, a new console from SEGA, and the election of Gon-Gon as the new company president.

Any suggestions as to what's going on?

And yeh, not the best thing to make a topic on, but amongst all the crap in this forum lately, it actually seems quite intelligent.

I doubt it'd be a merger.. they seem fine making different games for different platforms.

Maybe it's a new bit of kit. A SEGA handheld? :)

Theories:

Sega...
Are being bought out by another company.
Are buying another company.
Are releasing a console again.
Are releasing a new game.
Have merged with Nintendo.
Have merged with Sony.
Have merged with McDonalds.
Have decided to leave gaming altogether.
Are now developing soft toys to sell in Uzbekistan.

If I generate an idea every second, it wont be a suprise to me when it is announced...
