Me, myself, and many others, are fed up of all these topics that mean nothing - much like this one, but in order to remove the spam like topics "the playstation 2 will win, but the xbox doesn't know anything about gaming" etc, so post your tripe here - MAYBE, and that's a big maybe, the quality of Spam will improve.

The word Spam in relation to the act of spamming has multiple origins, two of which are pretty well known:

The first one is from the Vikings 'Spam' sketch from Monty Python where the Vikings are in a restaurant which only serves dishes with spam in them, and the Vikings are chanting 'spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam' non stop, and louder and louder, all through the sketch until the people trying to have a conversation in the same restaurant can do so no more.

Which effectively is what spam does, it stops a conversation.

The second origin is from folklore, where a guy set up a macro program to repeatedly post the phrase 'spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam' as a joke, over and over, on a university discussion thread.

Take your pick, either may be correct. Still others say that the letters s.p.a.m. actually are an anacronym for the phenomenon, but what they stand for I can't discover.

Spam? Isn't spam a kind of mixture of different 'unused' parts of meat like ears and eyeballs and stuff? McDonald chicken nuggets look like spam - they definately dont look like chicken, thats for sure!
