I accidentally found myself watching "Gamespot TV" with Violet Berlin the other day and toward the end of it they had a game called "Chrono Cross" on display.

I assume its for PS1, though I could be wrong, I'm pretty sure it came out in the U.S. but I can't find anything about a PAL release of this game.

It looked sweeeeet!

Can anyone tell me what I'm missing here?

As I trudge ever deeperinto the foreign world that isthe Ps forums I shallattempt to answer your question.

I am not sure if the Xchanger disk works on the Ps2 to run Ps games. Why? I hear you ask. Well to make the disk work properly when using a normal Ps you need to slot a spring (included) into a slot in the backof where the CDis placed. Have a look and you will see what I mean.

However when using the disk with a Ps1. All you need to do is coverthe disk reader with a sticker (included).

This brings me to the Ps2. Obviously to make thisdisk work you need todo one ofthe afformentioned methods. All though with a Ps2 I doubt this is possible.

Why? Well if you think about it the Ps2s disk slides out of the machine. It doesn't have a tray to put the disk into. Because of this it will be impossible to do either of the methods.

I suggest that you search the web/import shops for a special disk that allows you to play Ps1 games (imported) on the Ps2. If there isn't one I guess you are buggered I'm afraid Tarrant.

Point one You do not need a chipped Ps to play import games you can buy an Xchanger disc for it. This allows you to play import games without chipping (ruining) you playstation.

Secondly which emulator are you using Tarrant. Is it Zsnes as this is the best emulator for playing the old games.

Thirdly sorry about calling you IATT. I didn't think about calling you Tarrant. I couldn't be bothered to type out the full name either.

Firstly thank you for the kind donation of this information, it is much appreciated and has re-affirmed my faith in humanity (well, in a sense).

Secondly, call me "Tarrant" not "IATT" as I find it difficult to pronounce "IATT" and have to speak when I read.

Thirdly, I've got Chrono Trigger on my SNES emulator.

Fourthly and finally, why don't they make PAL versions of these games, particularly Chrono Cross, as there has been much success with Final Fantasy titles.

Thankyou for your time MJ :-)

Okay IATT. I shall share my infinite wisdom with you. Chrono Cross is the sequel to Chrono Trigger. Developed by Squaresoft it is an RPG in the same format as Final Fantasy.

The game is for the Ps1 and is not going to get a release in good ol' Europe. This is a great shame as the prequel of the game, set 20 years before the game was a damn fine peice of gaming.

The only way that you are going to be able to get your hands on the game is to import it or buy a game called Final Fantasy Chronicles to get the original, Chrono Trigger. This is only available n import as well I am afraid.

The game Final Fantasy Chronicles is a Ps1 game that is Final Fantasy 4 and Chrono Trigger put together. I am sure both of the game, Final Fantasy Chronicles and Chrono Cross will be in you local import shop. Well maybe nmot FFC as there is a very limited supply of them in europe. Only a few hundred.

Hope this helps a bit. Want to know more? Just ask me a question.
