... but I am very grateful, thank you!

Is everyone else confused? Here's a paraphrased conversation buried somewhere in the WLT:

Machie: "Does anyone else have an Amazon wish-list?"
Timmargh: "Yes."
Machie: "You don't have 'A Hat Full Of Sky'?"
Timmargh: "No."

You can work the rest out yourselves.

Long time since I saw that (or pretty much any Red Dwarf).

Saw Craig Charles live, doing standup. Quite funny. My brother used to drink with him in the pub in Chard (where he lived for a while).

Met Norman Lovett at a convention. He's an interesting person, but seems to complain quite a bit!

It's quite a good episode, just like a play =)

Well in addition to skim reading the book, I also forget most of it after I've read it anyway. Works out quite well really. :-)

Lister: "What about 'Lolita'? Can I burn 'Lolita'?"
Rimmer: "Save page 69 ..."
(Lister reads page 69.)
Lister: "That's disgusting!"
(Lister tears out page 69, puts it in his pocket and drops the rest of the book in the fire.)

See now, I never understand that, why re-read a book? Read it once, get stuck right in there, enjoy it and then stockpile for when there's no trees left to burn and it's a cold wintery day and you need the fuel.

I get involved in a book when I read it. That's why I like to be in a quiet room with no distractions when I read.

I'd like to read the LotR books but Return of the King seems to be the only one my local library has =) I think we had them when I was younger along with the Narnia books but I fear they've all been thrown away now. =(

Heh, I know what you mean I'm like that too. I can take weeks to finish a book, but of course there's always one book I tend to finish in a few days *cough* [S]harry potter[/S].

To be honest I don't understand people who rush through books and seem quite proud in doing so. It's like having a delicious meal and then shoving it all in your mouth instead of savouring each bite. Does that make sense? Sorry I'm terrible at analogies =D

Anyway, I'm glad you like the gift, hopefully it was a suprise to you still, despite talking about it just a few days ago ;-)
