When it happens are they going to boost the signal so rain and wind interfere less? Because, as much as a clearer picture is a good thing, terrestrial is currently the better signal at surviving through wind and rain and doesn't break up and freeze but simply get's a little bit snowy.

Hopefully the switchover won't turnout to be a step backwards otherwise we'll all be going over to cable and broadband-based TV. :S

Yes they are. They have to transmit a weaker signal at the moment else it bleeds onto the analogue systems.

Under the same conditions and signal strength digital will cope better. So hopefully your problems will be solved when analogue gets turned off.

And just be thankful you have a digital signal at all. :) My area still doesnt have digital and it doesnt look like they will before the cut off either. And I dont exactly live in the middle of nowhere either.

Rain and wind dont interfere with mine, mobile phones b**ger it right up though.
