But the other day i was watching gamertv (a quite good videogames show on Bravo, mostly up-to-date unlike gamepad which still thinks centipede is a major step for gaming and it keeps the crappy jokes to a minimum, unlike cybernet and doesn't have two 'bad ass rudeboy' muppets that gamezville has, though it's still nowhere in the class of gamesmaster)
Anyway they ran a feature on Famitsu the japanese videogame bible, which has basically the power to make or break a game in Japan because it's opinions are so respected. During it the editor and a few other people stated they were looking into branching overseas and publishing their magazine worldwide.
Now i've read a few copies of it because my contact in Japan occasionally sends me some over and it is just as good as they say, funny, great features and the reviewers actually review games instead of spending 2/3's of the review making some lame ass joke about something or telling us what he had for dinner the other night. So if it does start getting a worldwide publication i think this would be a really good thing. No more having to put up with the crap that is around at the moment, just proper journalism that gives the gamer facts about a game before going out and wasting their money on it.
I just hope it actually comes to fruition
Anyway far as how literate i am in Japanese, well i only started about a year ago after i met my friend over in Japan and she taught me the basics. Realising i don't want to stay in this god forsaken country any longer than i have to and trying to help my dream of teaching and living in Japan i decided to really get into it (plus also i wanted to play all the import games a good 6 months before you lot :-D) and it's been a side hobby of mine ever since plus also aiding me in my job efforts over in the land of the rising sun.
I can read most Japanese but i do struggle still sometimes, i do find myself reaching for my japanese book a couple of times during my videogame sessions (front mission 4 being the latest culprit) as far as speaking it goes, i'm not that good yet but as long as i don't meet a chatty japanese person i should be alright :-D But by the time i leave for Japan in either a few months or a couple of years depending on how my Uni decision goes i should be very fluent in it
*cough*
Just how much Japanese can lalakers actually read?

You know I wasn't having a dig at you, right?
I was trying to point out to Icarus that he felt Nash needed to be called a smartass for asking a perfectly valid question, yet he didn't see any reason for making a dig at you for concurring with his question.
