I'm sure there are still people that buy videogame magazines on here. I used to be one of them until i read the Arc the Lad review Play did and didn't actually mention anything about the game. I knew that was the time to give it up and stop wasting my money (plus the reviews can be found on their site anyway :-D)

But the other day i was watching gamertv (a quite good videogames show on Bravo, mostly up-to-date unlike gamepad which still thinks centipede is a major step for gaming and it keeps the crappy jokes to a minimum, unlike cybernet and doesn't have two 'bad ass rudeboy' muppets that gamezville has, though it's still nowhere in the class of gamesmaster)

Anyway they ran a feature on Famitsu the japanese videogame bible, which has basically the power to make or break a game in Japan because it's opinions are so respected. During it the editor and a few other people stated they were looking into branching overseas and publishing their magazine worldwide.

Now i've read a few copies of it because my contact in Japan occasionally sends me some over and it is just as good as they say, funny, great features and the reviewers actually review games instead of spending 2/3's of the review making some lame ass joke about something or telling us what he had for dinner the other night. So if it does start getting a worldwide publication i think this would be a really good thing. No more having to put up with the crap that is around at the moment, just proper journalism that gives the gamer facts about a game before going out and wasting their money on it.

I just hope it actually comes to fruition

First one was on last saturday i think and i saw an advert for the second part on wednesday. However knowing how bravo works with their gaming shows that could either be the wednesday just gone or next wednesday.

Lalakersrule, any idea when the GamerTV E3 specials are on? I forgot the dates on the adverts and haven't seen them since!

What?!?!?! Introducing the red dot to go along with the black and white dots was a huge graphical step. Looked tons better than anything the Xbox can come up with :-D

*Has flashbacks to the days when gameplay was all there was because those were actually the best graphics you could get on the hardware at the time*

Was in my news agents today and saw what looks to be another great magazine based on retro gaming. Didn't have enough money on me at the time so will have to pop back tomorrow and buy it to find out whether the magazine is as good as the concept of it. Has a CD on it as well with games to put on your PC so makes me even more inclined to buy it

*has flashbacks to the good old days of gaming where gameplay came before graphics*

I'd agree with that, just hope these repeats are an exception and won't become the normal thing

yup definitly think i was too hasty praising it seeing as they've had another repeat on yesterday. If Bravo insist on making videogame shows they need to know that it has to be a daily or weekly up to date thing. Not something where you make about 20 episodes then just keep repeating them. Hell gamepad 4 was reviewing XIII yesterday, bit old i would say. (ah well least they've actually gotten onto PS2 games now instead of commodore 64 ones ;-D)
