Hurrah indeed. Let the fanboy speculation commence about what they may offer. Just a shame this only fuels er-no's "Microtendo" speculation..
And Microsoft own a majority stake in the company unlike Nintendo did, Microsoft are not 100% owners but are the controlling owner.
It's a similar state with Bungie. It makes no difference so why have I bothered mentioning it I don't know.
Nintendo do own 100% of Retro Studio's though. Is this the only company Nintendo have actually bought? The mega teams EAD, Intelligent Systems, and NTSC are all built by Nintendo from the ground up.

Microsoft own all of Rare. Not just a stake like Nintendo had.
Once Rare finally get sorted out they along with Bungie will be Microsofts best properties in the games industry.

I didn't say they could.
They don't own the original Goldeneye though.
So you're right in that Rare couldn't release the game. However, neither could EA.
Microsoft allow the company to use the resources as Microsoft are apart of the Gameboy official developers.
The DS would simply be something else for the Gameboy team to sink their teeth in... with potential ports of Perfect Dark, Jet Force Gemini, Blast Korps, Killer Instinct: Gold, Banjo-Kazooie, Tooie, CBFD and DK64 all on the cards. Plus of course new titles.
Goldeneye is an impossibility as EA own the rights to the game.
1. Nintendo make it themselves.
2. Microsoft's share of Rare gets bought back.

Yeah they did...
*dreams about a DS version*

And a touchscreen analogue stick! (if Nintendo are too stupid to put in a real one in the final release! ;-D)
I'd rather not have Hunters style, stylus aiming.
Then again, that would make the game more accessable to kids!
"Just point at the enemy you want Joanna to shoot at!"
:-D
Microsoft would benefit financially too (providing the games sell)
