Whenever I type in a web address into my browser, the browser freezes and I have to do Ctrl + Alt + Delete to get rid of the browser that is "not responding". However, I can get onto sites that are in my favourites eg. SR. What is wrong?

Emmm, yeah right, that's a funny one, dunno, maybe a reinstall might help, but then again, maybe not. Does it only freeze after you hit enter, or just whenever you begin to type???

Have you tried a reinstallation of Internet Explorer?
It's still awkward though.
Go throuh a different page using hyperlinks or going to a server!
