This is meant to be a tongue in cheek doctors surgery for people with gaming distractions.

If there is something that is taking away from gaming post it here and the panel of experts (amateurs) will help you come up with a solution.

Also any tips you can give other gamers on how to play games with the least distractions are welcome.

The first is take the phone off the hook.

Drink coffee AFTER a gaming session. This prevents shaking which could in turn affect gaming performance.

Do not eat curry. It leads to queasiness and that leads to needing a drink which means you need to pause. Do not pause during racing games. You always hit something when you unpause. Pizza is the best food. Make sure you are in a bad posture. It helps with keeping the tension up. Get people out the house. Make sure the screen points away from all sources of light natural or otherwise. Have hankies nearby for tears of joy or tears of sorrow at losing. Or even nosebleeds from your blood pressure going up too high.

Use an absorbant controller, that way it doesn't get sweaty. Take a nutrient drink in and insert the straw into your mouth permanently. That way you can go for days only moving your fingers.

remeber never, EVER take a 15 minute break every hour, it damages your thinking process and your reaction time.

Position yourself within 12" of your screen so that peripheral visual distractions can be lessened. The bigger the screen and the closer you are to it, the better.

If you are tired and haven't had sufficient rest before playing, you are a wuss. Work on your stamina with a few hour long gaming sessions, gradually building up to all weekend marathons until you can complete any game in one sitting.

Don't take breaks of 10 minutes every hour from gaming, you lose your momentum.

Ensure that you are playing in WWII blackout conditions so that you can fully concentrate on the screen in front of you.

Should you experience symptoms such as dizziness, impaired vision, eye or muscle twitching, loss of consciousness, disorientation, any kind of involuntary movement or cramps, then IMMEDIATELY hit pause and eat some pizza.

Certain persons may suffer epileptic attacks or a disturbance of consciousness if exposed to specific flashes or light effects in routine situations. This can be distracting, so don't invite epilectics to your house when you are gaming.

Never leave a console on when there is thunder and lightning!, sound's weird but im serious!
Try getting a console repaired due to a surge to you see what I mean.
And that goes for Videos, TV's and PC's.
Absolute fortune to fix.

Remedy? Buy a surge Protector. Useful little thing.
