Racing games are starting to get on my nerves, I have rarely got annoyed when typing in the forums, but this is a topic with hatred inside, I waffled yes, but I want to waffle, OK!

GT3??? I really dislike this game, its all been done before... ohhh look at the realism! Who cares? I don't give a monkeys if the car looks good or doesn't, the fact of the matter is that its just the same GT2 engine with a faster console and more cars...

..its these kind of games that ruin the market, nothing original, nothing new, they just knew that giving more realism and a better screen resolution would sell more copies, sad thing is, the people who brought the game are going to go along with the hype and cred the game till GT4 is released.

All the people that have brought this game, hold your horses, yes you will comment it on being the best racer ever, but how is it any different it terms of what the predecessor did? It may be nicer to look at, but then again I am sure more people would prefer watching the Baywatch intro sceen then watching the GT3 intro shots.

Racing games? Crappy Games is a better name, don't get me wrong, I used to love them, the multiplayer racer is near unbeatable to anything else, but then again once a racer has been released that beats all the others, a racer in the future can only improve on small factors (eg cars).

Its going to disgust me when I hear on the people on here talk about how good the game is and how long it has last them??

*cough cough** 'Didn't you say the same thing about the last one? **cough cough**

Once a racer always a racer. Yes, we have had MSR, GT, TOCA, Rally etc... and even the Crazy Taxi car games, the only thing that is left is Train Drivi....ahh.. I see, that has also been done...

Well then shoot me in the foot and tie my head to the clutch, I have found that racing games are only ever going to continue to get better in the form of visuals/internet and multiplayer modes. The oneplayer option has been covered more than the male eyes on Jordans body.

People stop being stupid, the game is the same as it was before, just this time it has ten new cars or something? Last time didn't you have a car which you loved, are you just being gullable.

Shall I tell you the last remaining way to enjoy yourself with a car?? Yes? Well then, put some suspenders on, attach yourself to a fastcar at a set of traffic lights with the suspenders, and watch yourself fly forwards, then backwards towards your impending doom.

Racing Games? HA! They are all the same.

er-no, if you hate the genre why don't you shut up? Not everyone likes racing games, but then some people just aren't good at them are they.

How can you rubbish GT3, MSR and the like?

Mad Mad Mad.

Yes, GT3 has about 1/4 of the cars that GT2 had (around 150 in GT3, over 600 in GT2), but with good reason.

Each car in GT2 was made up of a few hundred polys, and took about a day to render each model.

GT3 uses 10,000+ polys for each car, and each one takes two weeks to render. (Incidentally, Polyphony say that the PS1 wouldn't have been able to handle even ONE of the new car models!)

They *could* include all the cars from GT2, but we'd be waiting until sometime in 2003 (probably!) for the game! :-)

All of the major cars are still there, with some new additions; all that's missing is some of the lower-spec cars, and the 2nd-hand market. But let's face it, how many of us went back to the 2nd-hand market once we'd got our dream machines? :-)

GT3 has a much-modified graphics engine, pushing around 20 million polys/sec at a resolution of 1024 x 480 (last quote I read), and at 60fps.

Due to the increased frame-rate, it is also twice as responsive to the controls as GT2, resulting in much more accurate physics calculations (such as speed, lateral G's, tyre traction etc.), giving a much more challenging 'driving' experience. And it makes use of the analogue buttons for acceleration and braking, giving you much finer control over cornering etc.

It is a lot harder than GT2, which is a very welcome improvement.

Gt3 IS a great game. Its the same as GT2, but with better graphics. A new revised engine is in there, tweaks here and there, but generally GT2 with better graphics.

So? GT2 was a great game!

I don't know if anyone's already laughed at Er-No for saying there's more cars! But I will too!

Ha!

;) Just Kidding, Er!

(I hope I've got the right Idea by the way.... apparantly there were about 400-500 cars in GT2 and only 150 in GT3... Feel free to hurl abuse if i'm wrong... I know Bonus will do it anyway!)

No, but there is another F1 game coming where you can do that.

It's on the PS2 but I can't remember the name. Can anyone else?
