Today was Sports Day at my school, and I played a rather large part.

I was in the 100m final and the 4x100m relay final. I won the 100m last year, and also got into the District Sports 100m Final. I was the favourite.

But next to me was the school's best 200m, along with an unproven sprinter-both of whom ran faster than me in the heat.

Just before the race, the 200m runner (supposedly the fastest in the year, but he had hardly ever ran 100m) was DQ'd by my teacher for swearing.

This left me and this unproven runner. We ran, and he beat me by 3 tenths of a second.

His time was 11.86-a new year 9 record.

My time was 12.16-my new personal best by 7 tenths of a second!

Should I be happy?? Should I be disappointed??

Next was the relay. We were the favourites by far, as out relay team consisted of the District Sports 100m and 200m runners.

Unfortunately the 200m runners had to drop out (one of them the guy who was DQ'd.) So we used a 400m runner and an 800m runner instead.

I went on the 4th leg. We were doing quite well up until the change-over to me. The person who passed it to me had never done relay, and he told me to go way too early. I had to stop before we were DQ'd.

I got the baton in 3rd place. At first I was resigned to coming 3rd, but then I began to catch them. By the end of the race, I was ahead of both of them. We'd won.

Unfortunately, I think we should have been DQ'd, as I ran over the line when we mucked up the change-over. I feel a little guilty, and it sort of takes away the happiness.

Should I be happy?? Should I be disappointed??

Now you may be wondering-what does this have to with gaming??

Well, I was thinking about how I felt when I completed Metal Gear Solid-my favourite game ever.

I'd been playing it non-stop for a few days, and had finally completed it. I was happy to have finished the game, but also sad that there was no more to come. It wasn't the same when I played it again.

So, should I be happy to have finished the game?? Or should I be disappointed that there was no more to come until MGS2??

Should I be happy?? Should I be disappointed??

Thanks for reading, Ant.

Ants do run fast... I actually have evidence!

All you need to do is lure them out with a crisp then get a magnifying glass hold it over them and they run around like crazy then for some reason they stop and smoke comes off them.

Oh well

Anyway, you should be proud, you ran faster than

Yeah, I guess you're right there.

No more to come in MGS?

Yeah, I have, but still nothing like playing it first time. It's the twisting and turning storyline that I missed.

Have you got the ninja suit yet so you can creep

Hmmm...no, not yet. I may just do that.

Have you got the camara yet so that you can take

Yeah, I got that. Some nice photos.

Have you seen both endings? Have you achieved the

I've seen both endings, and I've been trying for AGES to get a really good rank. Perhaps time to start again.

Hopefully, hopefully...

Ah MGS, a great game, all I have to do now is get the highest rank. I haven't played it for ages though.

I can't wait for MGS2, the demo was bloody brilliant so imagine what the full version will be like, i can't waste.

You should be ASHAMED!!!!

12 seconds is excellent over 100m, but not when you got six legs. Did you stop for sugar at the 50m mark or something?

Anyway, you should be proud, you ran faster than everyone in the 4x400m, regardless of the fact that you overstepped the mark on the changeover, and you could always TELL the judges that you overstepped, it doesn't take away the fact that you were still faster than anyone, it just adds to the fact that you'd be a better sportsman for telling them.

No more to come in MGS? Haven't you tried out that bandana that gives you unlimited amounts of whatever you are equipped with? So you can have endless fun with the PSG-1 rifle?

MGS will live on, as will your sprinting methinks.

Conker i was pleased to see it finally over, but the laugthter died, the ending made me feel some what empty, longing similar to Shadowman (And i cry at night why 2ndcoming PS2 only why?).

The game was fantastic and i fell under a spell i hadn't been put under since Zelda! The ending of Conker was perfectly angled so i would desire a sequal like i desire to eat!

In fact i loved Conker so much i made a web site about it!

Ant, you choose what emotions you feel nobody else. Different people react differentely to different situations, me personally I would have felt happy that I was D'qd and that I helped my team win the race.

Only you as yourself can choose what you want to feel, but yes I do understand what you mean with the question and topic, when I completed Conker's Bad Fur Day, I was happy to have completed the game but then saddened because the game was finished.. over!

:) or :(

I suppose it depends on the person!
