I never said that, the storyline of FF7 is great, but the storyline of mgs is better, if you think otherwise then there are 2 possibilities:
1- You weren't paying attention during mgs.
2- You don't speak English.

I think if there is one moment which defined the psone for me, it was sephiroth killing aeris, no-one believed it when they saw it, and people still cant accept that you cant bring her back.
Or the one that was largely forgotten, the betrayal of cait sith, i couldnt believe it, i actually went back to my save point and tried to catch him the second time.
That kind of story-telling just didnt happen before that game.

not mgs, it's different. I mean, how far can you relly go for FF7 ? What kinds of things can you really sacrifice for the sake of "Your favourite game " ? MGS is not my favourite game, it's the best thing that has ever happened to me.

And come to think of it I enjoy a good game of Manhunt with about 9 other friends around my local town.

Squall I on the odd occasion dive around my room with my BB guns pretending to be Gabriel Logan. Nothing wrong with it as long as you dont take it to extremes and snap someones neck in public. Though if you do it right you wont be seen.

I wouldn't say the Storyline fully compensates for the longlivity though.

How far would you actually take a game?
I'm convinced you prance about in bushes pretending to be Snake. No game does go that far. A game is a form of entertainment
