Meryl getting shot was crap. I mean whats the logic in thinking, theres a snipr out there so lets backtrack all the way to the beggining because a sniper that I dont know at all wont shoot her again, of course that sniper wont.

Only at the beggining, you see, that's the fun of it, bit by bit things started to feel mysterious, untill the ninja fight, this is what made feel that this game "is something", and from this point we had some of the best cutscene moments ever, do you rmember when meryl was shot ? And when sniper wolf died ? I never saw something saw touchy. And on top of all that, the ending, there was absolutely no character I have ever seen in my life in any thing that can match Grey Fox, do you remember the ending ? Try and top that.

FF7's story owns MGS's. Anyone remember Vib Ribbon? Must of been a great day for the music industry I bought some Happy Hardcore album to see how hard it would be.

I wouldn't say the storyline in MGS was anything special. It's just your basic 'terrorists trying to take over the world' routine.

Call me an old school gamer if you will but when i buy a videogame i actually expect to get to play some of it instead of sitting watching the majority of the action. If i want that i'll go to the cinema. Now the parts you did get to play in MGS were great i'm not disputing that it's just those parts of the game were too few for my liking.

Hence why it wouldn't get in my top 5 of PSX games

That's the whole point, watching the cutscenes in mgs1, this makes it the game with the best storyline whatsoever, I even think that it's better than any other movie I have ever seen.
