"Going A.W.O.L."

Okay, so how many of you have got so wrapped up in a game that you've skipped school or work to play it? Or should I say, how many of you are prepared to ADMIT to it?!

I don't *only* mean waking up in the morning and faking a sickie - I mean the other reasons, too... like not being able to turn the game off at 10:00pm (or whenever), playing through until 3 or 4 in the morning, and then not being able to get up for school/work.

If you have 'gone AWOL'...

1. What game(s) made you do it?
2. How often have you done it?
3. Has it cost you anything? (i.e. been fired from work, bad grades at school etc.)
4. Do you/have you ever regretted it?
5. Do you still do it/would you do it again?


My answers:

1. GT1, GT2, all Resident Evil games, a couple of Tomb Raiders, and most recently, Moto GP.

2. One day for each of the above games, except RE2 which was 3 days!

3. Thankfully, it's cost me nothing except sleep so far.

4. I felt a bit guilty, but it soon passed.

5. Rarely... but GT3 is out soon, so...

(Is that possible?)

Another bet in the bag, I reckon.

(Grix... you really need to calm down with this. Any bet we make, I always end up winning.)

I just don't have any incentive.

Nothing. But I am highly likely to be going to Nintendo's trade show in London the day before.

1st day I got Black and White.
Installed it at 6pm, then realised it was 4am and I hadn't eaten or anything.

Phoned work and was ill the next day.

I've never takn days off to play games, but in the past I often neglected homework to play games, but I'm sure you all did that!

I remember doing it with Perfect dark once...

I had all the bots, all the guns, all the everything... oh it was 'bliss'... my 3 friends enjoyed it!

We played it til about 5 in the morning... it was about 300 to 70 when we stopped... bearing in mind the bots were on hard it was quite a feat!

No, I've played B&W 'til about 3am, but I didn't have any lectures the next day 'til 11am, so I could have a lie in and get over it.
