I long for some good old Brittish music with attitude. Sude after an appalling albem has dissapeared, The Manics have melowed as as for Radiohed ???????????????. What have we now? Trvis, Sing, Sing, Sing er no or Coldplay an OK ablem but lacks enough attitude. Of cause there's Muse but theres somthing i just don't like about them.
I know there are bands out there but curruntly the social group I mix with are all into Dance music and lack in any knowelge of musical apreciation. is there any good sites out there where I can listen or purchass good music (without having to trawl through bucket loads of crap)?

Yeah I agree Apex.

I mean I like my music loud, I can honestly say that I will listen and like anything, but the stuff I love I can't help to just move to it!

It's more of an experience for me, I just love music!

And live, well we all know how good gigs are don't we?

New stuff which I've been into recently to excite my music cells, is Dax Riders, a French dance group. Ohhh and I love the new Air album, man it rules!

Dream, Britney, Christina Aguilera, are just a few.....on the thing of UK bands do the Corrs count because they are okay ! And Atomic Kitten. Apart from that I can't think oif any I like but its because its not my kind of music.

Oh yeah, I'd agree with you on that. Thing is, they're are some AWESOME bands from all over the World y'know man? You just have to go out and look for them, which is half the fun if you ask me, discovering something new that doesn't just affect you on a musical level.

Tool, Candiria, Dillinger Escape Plan. All American bands pushing the envelope even further, not to mention bands that garner absolutely hardly any media attention.

Best of British IMHO is; Radiohead, Portishead, Massive Attack and I s'pose Muse too.

And Your Honour, the Gorrilaz album is wicked, really funky tunes less poppy than the singles, but fuller (bad adjective I know!).

Aren't REM american CJ?

Plus Radiohead albums are big in the US,and have been in the top 50 for ages, you fool.

Just look around, British music is probably something to be proud of.

Although some influences from the French Dance Scene would be nice.

Let's not bother go into bad Euro pop here people!

What have the US to offer us of any real value that could change and develop the industry?

Limp Willy (or Biscuit)?
Korn?
Back Street Boyz?
N Sync?

God I now realise how good we've got it!

The main reason I don't buy British music is because of ,what many people term, it's "attitude". Too me its generally way too downbeat and dull and not very livley at all ! Dido is one exception but for her to become noticed she had to go to America first ( roswell high soundtrack in early 2000 ), her first album release barely made it into the charts, then her first single was released and suddenly the album is in the charts ! :)

A lot of people hate american pop but to me its the best style of music, does this mean I have no appreciation for music ( as mewto hinted at with his dance loving friends ) ?

Still All saints are the only british group I've ever bought anything of lol
