Sony has announced the first shipment of PlayStation2 hard drives has sold out at its online store.
The units will be delivered to Japanese consumers from July 19. A new shipment is due to reach the land of the rising sun on July 27.
The hard drive, which will be packaged with a broadband adapter and a 56k modem will cost around £108 and will be available as either a standalone unit or as an internal plug-in device, depending on which model PlayStation2 the consumer owns.
The unit is not expected to be available for the European market until early 2002.
Maybe these work on the UK console you never know but i've said it before and i'll say it again. I should have bought an American PS2.
