IGN picks out all the bad points from the hype. A good review:

It'll be good to compare Collin Mcrae with WRC - but I also think WRC is looking too good already for Collin!

His reign as PS Rally Champ may well be over...

I played it today, in EB, with a speedster 2 steering wheel, on a 42" Sony projection TV. What can I say?? Best Game of 2001!!!

That's all it was ever claimed to be, though!

Originall to be called GT2000, it's more of a GT2.5 than a complete step up.

Still, as far as gameplay goes... if it ain't broke...

After reading the review it seems to me that GT3 is just GT2 with better graphics and less tracks.

Strange!

I know GT3 has rally sections, but I think WRC will be the GT3 of rally games - it's looking awesome.

And for some reason, the ability to go tumbling over a cliff if you mess up is strangely appealing...

I hope WRC supports the force feedback steering wheel...

This has to become the norm now. Its the next step.

Yup. I know the reasons, I was just referring to the part in the IGN review which says that the driving in GT3 is identical to GT2... which clearly is not the case, for the very reasons you mention.

wookie the reason you probably found the car harder to drive than in gt2 is because the physics engine is probably alot more realistic.
i was reading an article that said gt2 had a 1/30th of a second lapse between when you pushed a button and the game reacted, and now they have droped that time drematically it makes it faster reacting and more realistic
i suppose if you look closely at the speedo and see the speed your'e doing, you can't really go around a corner too fast without loosing traction!
the game i can't wait for is world rally cars by evolution studios!
the other bummer with gt3 is we don't get it in new zealand till august 10th

Iam will be making sure I have the day off work for the 20th as I can't wait to play the game. I havent seen any dummy boxes yet or it working on a PS2. America now has GT3 as it was released today.
