And for some reason, the ability to go tumbling over a cliff if you mess up is strangely appealing...
This has to become the norm now. Its the next step.

Yup. I know the reasons, I was just referring to the part in the IGN review which says that the driving in GT3 is identical to GT2... which clearly is not the case, for the very reasons you mention.
i was reading an article that said gt2 had a 1/30th of a second lapse between when you pushed a button and the game reacted, and now they have droped that time drematically it makes it faster reacting and more realistic
i suppose if you look closely at the speedo and see the speed your'e doing, you can't really go around a corner too fast without loosing traction!
the game i can't wait for is world rally cars by evolution studios!
the other bummer with gt3 is we don't get it in new zealand till august 10th
