"Akira..............anyone???"

I heard recently that "Akira" was getting a facelift of sorts.

Apparently its been fully visually restored and been re-dubbed so that the English language version now makes sense (lets face it, good though the other one was,it left you more confused than the subtitled version)

Does anyone know any more about this?

Specifically, the UK release date would be nice! :-)

Absolutely.

I remember loving the animation, 1st real intro to Manga.
The motorbikes were fantastic, and someone kept shouting "Kanada!"

I think you have to read all 6 volumes of the Akira graphic novel at least twice and then sit down and have a lengthy discussion about each little aspect of the story with Katsuhiro Otomo, before "Akira" starts to mak sense.

Good film all the same!

I saw it about 4 times and it still made no sense.

I'd like to see it again, a re-release would go down well with me.
