"TOKYO, May 28 (Reuters) - Nintendo Co Ltd <7974.OS> said on Friday it has codenamed its next-generation home console "Revolution", cementing a pledge to offer video game fans an entirely different gaming experience from current machines.
The Kyoto-based game maker said it plans to boost research and development (R&D) costs 27 percent from a year ago to 20 billion yen ($180 million) in the business year ending March 31, in part to fund development costs for Revolution."

Ooo it all sounds exciting. Can't wait to see what Nintendo are going to do with the thing!
:D

Metroid Prime.. has virtually no loading times. In fact most of the Nintendo first party games don't.
Now THAT would be a 'revolution'.
Both could be cool.
Whatever it is, the new control methods will be the reason that Mario 128 is kept under wraps, because I bet you that, as a launch game, it will be there to get people used to the new control method (Mario 64 - analogue stick, Luigi's Mansion - dual analogue sticks).
Actually, saying that, I bet that the new controller will have 3 analogue sticks, and an even SMALLER (I mean minute) D-Pad. Also, the Start button will be called the Start/Pause/Menu/Stop/Options button.
Ah PacMan Vs. Without the £90 accessory.
I really like the idea of having one for a home-console though. Not only would you no longer have to pay extra for a keyboard unit (wherever neccesary...), but I'm sure it would bring so-much-more to big games like Zelda and Metroid.
Even if it was just for an 'interactive map' - just imagine the ways in which you could interact with it, while still playing the game...
:)
I think there does need to be some advance in the way that we interact with games, kinda like the DS has done for the hand-held market.
:)
A BLOODY TOUCH-SCREEN IN THE CONTROLLER!
