Allegedly Nintendo have patented/registered some item that looks very much like a camera attachment for the cube. Here is the article from ign, which contains a couple of picture of the registration. http://cube.ign.com/articles/520/520093p1.html. As far as we know, Nintendo are attempting to recreate the success that the Eyetoy bought to the PS2. Personally i am happy as i can see a load of good mini-games coming from this, perhaps not too disimilar from the likes of Mario Party, and of course containing the usual Nintendo charm. Although it will need a lot of work to avoid the image of a PS2 copycat... Your views please...

I've not forgotten that - but a peripheral that takes low quality black and white images and allows you to use four stills of your face ONLY on that cart or print onto heat sensative sticker paper hardly compares to Eye Toy

They'll probably call it the Nin-Toy, and then patent it, and try and sue Sony!

Well i wont be bothered if it is a good Eyetoy rip-off, cus Ninty will no doubt supply some top class minigames. Though i can hear all the Sony Fanboy's now complainin about being copied.

On another note, i dont know if anyone read the Ign article, but Ninty have also registered the name 'Princess Peach'...

As long as it's not an eye-toy ripoff.. It's gotta be used for something different.. innovative.

Like a make your own movies game. You capture footage, you can edit it and add effects etc.

Saying that tho.. that would never fit on a memory card. Dumb idea.

Tho' seeing as Nintendo have already made that camera attachment for the GB, they could just say it was an expansion on that idea... but lets hope this new one isnt just for taking pics etc...

If Nintendo are planning their own version of Eye toy, then I'll definately get it.

They'll have to be careful as to how it's implemented though - seeing as I expect plenty of legal issues would arise...

I enjoyed Eye Toy when I messed about in the shops - a Nintendo own version would be excellent!
