Now... noramly, I stear clear of this kind of thing... (Especially the sites)...
Since the majority of this stuff is rarely interesting, largly dubious, and often seems forced...
However... :)
After I grabbed this info 'bout the one half of Star Wars very own robotic double act, I proceeded to mention the tidbits of info to some a few of my mates down the pub last weekend...
Wherein I discovered that all my info was well known to the general populos... and had been for a goodly amount of time...
Scuppered! ... Anyway... :)
Has anyone else discovered any interesting movie trivia that they thought was new and interesting, only to find out that the rest of the world already considered it useful only for wrapping their fish and chips in?
InFact...
Does any one know any interesting movie facts at all? ... Any unkown facts gleamed about all time movie faves?
---
oh yes... In case you care... the R2-D2 stuff was...
1. In Raiders of the Lost Ark, when Indy is translating some hyroglyphics, one of them contains the visage of R2-D2...
2. In close Encounters... When the Flying Saucer lands and opens its doors, one of the visiting Aliens is R2-D2...

And a strangely large number of Grange Hill teachers... :)
The majority of both Goodfellas and Casino were unscripted for Robert De Niro, Scorcese had so much faith in him that they didn't bother scripting anything, it's all ad-libbed.
IN Goodfellas the whole scene at Joe Pesci's mums, when he gets the spade, is unscripted, which is why Ray Liotta hardly says anything.
Joe Pesci directed the "You're a funny guy" scene in Goodfellas.
Incidentally I posted ages ago about the plot for Star Wars EP3, well it goes a little summint like this:
**********Spoilers below**************
You know the clone wars that Luke talks to Obi Wan about in EP4 - the clones are all clones of Boba Fett. Boba Fett was a clone of Jango Fett and equal of a jedi. He was given to Senator Palpatine (the evil emperor) as a gift. He was cloned into an army and they wipe out the jedi. The clones ARE stormtroopers - all stormtroopers are clones of Boba Fett! Annakin Skywalker is killed by Obi Wan as he becomes more evil, but the Emperor brings him back to life and that is how he finally becomes Vader's master.
Also in EP2, Yoda kicks some bottoms and Ja-Ja Binks is rumoured to be killed off (please, oh God please).
So it looks like it will be like the original trilogy. Happy story, then sad story, then happy again, but with morals and a political subplot.
When C3PO and R2 are waiting in the Death Star for the gang to get back and the stormtroopers finally get in, watch as the one at the back smacks his head into the top of the door and almost falls over.
Classic.
The Empire: Staffed by morons
Also, in ROTJ, there's meant to be a sneaker used as one of the ships in the baackground during the final space fight. Has anyone seen this?
When Indy and the women who is always screaming just from the window into the car below, when the car drives past the door of the club they have just left, it shows the name of the club. This is: Club Obi-Wan which is the character Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars as both films had George LUcas involved in them.
I also know 3 interesting facts about Jaws 3.
1) It's crap
2) The effects in the original Jaws are better
3) Most of the underwater shots look like Thunderbirds.
Stakeout - They play the movie quote game, and Richard Dreyfuss wins with "This was no boating accident!". The line he spoke in Jaws
Toy Story 2 - The whole beginning with Buzz attacking Zurg is an homage to most sci-fi films. There are references to 2001, Close encounters, Star Wars etc
A Few Good Men - Tom Cruise has "Misery" by Stephen King on his bookshelf, the film Rob Reiner directed afterwards
Magnolia - "A Ghoulardi Production", Ghoulardi was the name of a character played by Paul Thomas Anderson's dad in a 50s horror show on TV.
Many references to Exodus 8:2 (the number 82 pops up a whole lot)
