Story

The introduction to the game sees grown up Link and Zelda having dinner together in Hyrule Castle when they hear a huge crashing noise and the ground begins to shake. Link runs outside with Navi and Zelda following. Then Navi says that it is coming from Lake Hylia and Link jumps on Epona and rides off with leaving Navi behind. Navi tells Zelda to stay in the castle and then flies off after Link. When Link reaches the Lake he sees the water draining and there is only a very small amount left in the bottom. He can see the six sages faces in the water and they are crying for him to rescue them. Then he hears Zelda’s little whimper from behind him and he sees her in the pink gem again floating toward the water. She disappears inside as if she has gone through a portal so Link dives headfirst down to it but unfortunately the portal closes up just as he is about to go through and he hits the lake floor with a thud and falls unconscious. He wakes up in the professors lab from the first game and Navi explains to him what happened. She can’t say what or where the portal leads to but she suggests that you should return to the castle and have a look around. Once you return there, there is a hidden door that leads to the ocarina and a stone pillar. The pillar reads: He who has the sacred ocarina shall play the sacred song in front of this pillar. You do not know any songs yet but on the back of the pillar are some notes. You play the notes in front of the pillar and the floor begins to shake again. Then there is a cut scene that shows a huge cylinder shaped pillar rising through the crater of Death Mountain. Then another in the Lost Woods and another in Gerudo Wastelands. Each one has a statue on the top. When you get to the top room of each of them you must face a boss and you also pick up various items along the way. The boss of Tower of Din (Death Mountain) is the Spirit of Flame which is just a fire ball which spews out little fire balls. The boss of Tower of Farore (Lost Woods) is the Guardian of the Wind which is a tornado that you have to throw bombs into. The final tower is the Tower of Nayru and the boss is the Water Devil. This is a mermaid that sits on a rock in the middle of a small pool of water. Her main attack is a jet of water which you must freeze with the ice shield that you pick up in the same tower. The water freezes all the way up to her and then she freezes as well giving you time to jump across and stab her repeatedly.
Once you have completed every tower another tower bursts through the ground of Lon Lon Ranch. The base is the size of the horse’s pen in the middle and when you look up you can’t even see the top (this would look great as a screen shot in a magazine). When you reach the top, there is no boss but there is a cut scene. Gannondorph has opened the door of time and has taken the master sword. He is holding it and he also has Zelda with him. Zelda throws her arms at the master sword and knocks it out of Gannondorph’s hands. It sticks in the wall next to Link and as Gannon lunges forward to get it, Link grabs it, spins and cuts off one of Gannon’s hands. He pushes his other hand forward and summons some sort of purple wind spell. It throws Link and the master sword through the huge window in the room and then Gannon takes Zelda and disappears. As Link is falling the statue on each of the three God Towers breaks open and Din, Farore and Nayru all fly to the spot where Link is about to land and merge together to form a transparent coloured portal. Link keeps falling but then suddenly stops and hovers just above it for a few seconds. Then he drops through it and is standing in front of the three Gods. They tell him that Gannon has escaped from the dark realm and kidnapped the seven sages. They say that he has found a way to bring people back to the dark realm with him and that that is probably where he has taken them. They then say that you are there last chance and that Gannon is yet again after the Triforce but first he wants revenge on you. They send you to the dark realm as a child because if they were to send you at the current date you would almost certainly die as they believe that Gannon’s army is huge. Back in time is the only way you stand a chance. They give you the lens of truth and then send you on your quest.
Your first task is to free the sages. Each of them are awaiting death in a different cavern. The six caverns are as follows:
1) Kakariko cavern – defeat Dampe’s evil brother to free Impa.
2) Dodongo cavern (completely different from first game) - defeat Tremor to free Darunia
3) Gerudo cavern – defeat Quinchop (Nabooroo’s successor) to free Nabooroo.
4) Hylian cavern – defeat Queen Deku scrub to free fat guy sage.
5) Ice cavern – defeat Serpent of the Deep to free Princess Zora. You can also get the flame sword by freeing a huge fish.
6) Forest cavern – Destroy the virus infecting the Deku tree shrub to free Saria.

Then you are taken back to the Temple of Gods were you are told about a sacred object that has been passed down by the 5 races in Hyrule for generations. Each piece is a separate bracelet but when all 5 pieces are placed together on the pedestal outside the door of darkness in the dark realm the lighted sun will bring down the door. Link then says that the sun in the dark realm is black so the object will not work. You are then told that this is the reason the sages must be saved and then it shows the six sages rise up into the sun and it lights up. You are then sent back into the light realm were you are grown up again and told that you must find each bracelet before it is too late. Then you are told to start off with the Goron piece. Go to Death Mountain and find it says Navi. You must then complete a certain task for each of the five races for them to give you their bracelet.

1) Goron bracelet – This task is made easy to get you started. The Gorons tell you that there are no rocks left in their territory and that you have to give them some before they give you the bracelet. You must defeat 3 King Dodongos in a maze. The last one will roll out of the maze knocking down all the walls as it goes. It then rolls of the edge of the cliff and as it hits the floor it makes the ground shudder and all the rocks fall off the edge into Goron territory. You are then given the bracelet.
2) Kokiri bracelet – The Kokiri tell you that the skull kids have gone mad and they are destroying the Lost Woods. They say that you must stop them before they destroy any more of it. You are given one piece of help to do this. One skull kid thinks that it is wrong to destroy the Lost Woods and wants it stopped just as much as the Kokiris. He leads you on a different route to the back of the Forest Temple from the first game. He says it is too dangerous for him to continue and then runs off. Half way through the ruined temple you meet up with him again and again he leads you to a secret room where Gannon is waiting. The door closes behind you and the skull kid begins to laugh. He takes off a mask and you see Mido’s face. Gannon then says that your friend Mido has a weak mind and is easy to control. He then disappears and you are left to fight Mido. Once you defeat him he falls to the floor and asks Link where he is. Link puts away the master sword and then walks up to Mido and leans over him. He tells him that he was being controlled by Gannon but now the spell must be broken. Mido grabs the Master sword and tells Link how stupid he is before disappearing, taking the Master Sword with him. Every skull kid in the forest then falls down and returns to normal as Gannon doesn’t need them anymore. He has what he wants. You return to Kokiri village and collect the second bracelet.
3) Hylian bracelet - The next bracelet is supposed to be in Hyrule Castle so when you get there an army of zombies suddenly appear and surround you. If you use the Shadow spell then you disappear and the zombies become confused. Then all you have to do is walk past them and into the castle. All of people from the market are hiding inside the castle and they tell you that there homes are infested with zombies. They also say that if you kill the zombies then they will give you their bracelet. Once you have killed every zombie and return to the castle, everybody takes off their jewelry and gives it to you. You then say that you don’t want their jewelry but the sacred bracelet passed down for generations. They all say that they have never heard of it but tell you to try Kakariko Village. When you get there, the same thing has happened. Every villager has taken shelter in the cow house and they explain that they know where the sacred bracelet is and they will tell you if you rid their town of the zombies. You kill all the zombies and return to the villagers. They say that it is buried at grave 14 in the graveyard but also warn you that when it is dug up, the shadow master shall also be released. The shadow master is the same thing that came out of the well in Ocarina of Time. You get the bracelet but must also defeat the shadow master once and for all.
4) Gerudo bracelet – Gannondorph has made Quinchop the leader of the Gerudos and if any Gerudo opposes her then they are sent to Gannondorph. Not many Gerudos like Quinchop but there are a few that are loyal to her. Quinchop and her few followers have made their headquarters at the secret land in Hyrule. This land is located at the far end of Gerudo Fortress and only the Gerudos know about it. The Gerudos who are not loyal to Quinchop agree that if you kill Quinchop then they will give you the bracelet. The entrance to the secret lands is heavily guarded by Quinchop’s followers and you are immediately captured. In the cut scene one of the Gerudos says that Quinchop has heard of you and would like to see how good a swordsman you really are. You are taken to a huge stadium and are forced to fight many Gerudos. Then you have to fight 2 Gerudos at a time and then 3. If you are successful then Quinchop jumps down from her seat and challenges you. When you defeat her, there is a cut scene where all of her followers take out their swords and attack. Then all of the Gerudos that hate Quinchop come running in and surround them. Quinchop’s followers then drop their swords and beg for mercy. You are then given the next bracelet.
5) Zora bracelet – As you enter Zora’s fountain there is a cut scene. Mido has the bracelet and as he sees you he throws it into the water where a huge fish jumps out and swallows it. Mido then disappears and you have to find King Zora to find out where the huge fish is going. When you find him he says that the fish is the Serpent of the Deep that you destroyed many years ago in the dark realm. He then says that Gannon has brought it back to life and put it in the light realm. He tells you that he would guess that it is going to Lake Hylia. When you get to Lake Hylia, Gannon is waiting and he puts a huge force field over the entire lake and refills it to stop you from getting the bracelet. The fish then breaks through the secret entrance from Zora’s Domain and Gannon then disappears but he doesn’t know about the secret entrance to the lake from Zora’s Domain. When you go through the secret tunnel to the lake there is no sign of the fish but there is a huge burrow hole in the bottom of the lake. When you go down it you must complete a water level before fighting the Serpent of the Deep #2. When it is defeated, it spits out the bracelet and Link catches it before it burns up and dies.

When you have all the bracelets, you are sent back to the dark realm by the gods and told to place all 5 bracelets on the pedestal of light. Then they say that the only way that Gannondorph can be defeated is to where the yellow tunic and use the light sword, light shield and light arrows.
When you get to the gate in the dark realm, you can read the writing on the pedestal. It reads: Place the five holy bracelets on the pedestal of the races and darkness shall become light. You then place the bracelets on the pedestal and you are given a cut scene. In the cut scene the 5 bracelets rise up into the air and form a long cylinder shape called the eye of light. The pedestal then rises up and the eye of light comes in line with the lighted sun and the door burns away. A time limit then counts down from 7 minutes in the corner of the screen and as you cross the drawbridge into Gannon’s castle a huge long necked snake with flippers bursts up through the bridge and sends you flying backwards. You then have to defeat the Monster of the Moat to proceed into Gannondorph’s castle.
Once inside, you must complete a number of puzzles including finding out how to activate an elevator up to Gannon’s chamber. When you have activated it, you go up to near the top of the castle and enter a very large room. As you make your way across it, large stones start to fall down from the ceiling. When you make it the opposite end of the room to the door, it disappears and Mido appears in its place. After telling you how pathetic you are and how he never liked you anyway, he throws a big stone at you and then you have to fight him. His basic attack is throwing stones at you. However, once in a while he picks up a huge metal ball and this is when you have to shoot one of your magnetic arrows into him and the ball will be attracted to it so it falls on his head. Once you have done this a few times he will start to run after you. You run away from him and after a little while he will get puffed out and you shoot one of the big boulders attached to the ceiling. It falls on his head and he will collapse. The spell is then broken and he says he is sorry before he dies. The door reappears and you enter it. As you do so a cut scene shows Gannon walking away from the door in a very large room. Link follows him and the door disappears behind him. Gannon swings around and starts to laugh. Link then pulls out his bow and a light arrow and Gannon raises his only hand and the same purple spell from the Tower of Gods blows the bow out of Link’s hands and it lands at the other end of the room. Then walls appear all around the room and they separate Link and Gannon. Gannon flies up high in the air so he can shoot at Link and then play resumes. You must use the lens of truth to find certain walls that can be walked through and make your way across the room to your bow while avoiding Gannon’s fireballs. When you get your bow back, you must put on your yellow tunic, light shield and light sword and then select light arrows. You then put on your wing boots to fly up to Gannon for a few seconds and swipe at him with the light sword. This will take him a few seconds to recover from when you land back on the ground you have to be quick to shoot him with a light arrow. He then falls to the floor where you run up to him and push the B button. Link will pick Gannon up and throw him against a wall. Do this repeatedly until he doesn’t get up. Then walk over to him and there will be a cut scene where Gannon will suddenly point to a cage that is lowering at the top of the room. Zelda is in the cage but then the bottom of the cage opens and Zelda falls out. Gannon then sends a spell towards her and it stops her falling in mid air. Gannon runs out the door as Link tries to save Zelda and then she falls again. Link is about to save her when a portal appears above his head and Zelda passes through it. Then Link hears the door slam so he fires his longshot at the ceiling and it brings him up into the portal which closes just as Link goes through it. He finds himself in an even bigger room where Gannon is sitting in a huge throne and Zelda is just in front of him on the floor not moving. Link runs at him but is thrown back by a force field that contains both Gannon and Zelda. Play resumes and you have to find a way to deactivate the force field while Gannon walks up and down behind it rather like the end battle in the Phantom Menace. What Link must do is fire all his ammo with the electric shot at the force field so it drains its energy and then put on the feather boots so you are very light and are able to walk through it without being hurt. You can also use the shadow spell to get a jump start on Gannon as he will not be able to see you. However, as soon as you hit him he brings on the lights so he can see you easily. This is a basic sword fight but he has many different attacks and guards so you must vary your attacks. Once you have defeated him (you hit him for the last time and then a cut scene shows Link dodging Gannon’s sword swipes and repeatedly hitting him until Gannon finally collapses).
End cut scene: Zelda will then wake up and tell you that they must leave. Link and Zelda then run out of the castle the same way you came in. As you are running out however, Mido mumbles something and Zelda hears him. She shouts to Link that they can’t leave him here so you pick him up and put him on your shoulders. Then you continue running and when you make it outside you lay Mido on the ground and Zelda says to you that you must destroy the castle or Gannon will regenerate. It then shows you a shot from inside the castle where Gannon is crawling into his throne and when he makes it, he starts to recharge his powers. Link then takes out the Golden axe and throws it at the castle. Upon impact, it blows up and takes down the whole castle. All of the sages (apart from Zelda) then fly out of the sun and down to the rubble of the castle. Together, they pick up Gannon’s body but he opens his eyes and shouts noooooooo before throwing all the sages to the floor and picking up the Golden axe. He is about to throw it at Link when you take out your bow and about 6 light arrows, draw back the string and fire. All 6 arrows hit into him and he falls to the ground once again where the sages pick him up and fly off into the sun. Gannondorph has been defeated and banished from both realms. He is stuck in the sun until the next Zelda game.
Link and Zelda are then transported back to the Gods and Link is told what a brave man he is before they return to Hyrule castle to finish their dinner.

What do you think. I think it's much better than the Majoras Mask's storyline as that was lame. Oh well, who knows. Maybe on Gamecube. Hahaha.

No it is a bit from the film Polterguiest. You know you hear his brother saying "Mikey where are you Mikey?" well in the film Polterguiest you hear the daughter sayng "Mummy where are you Mummy?" in the exact same voice in the same echoey effect. Listen to both and you will hear the similarity. Also Poltergueist has some of Shadowmans music in it. Although it is not the famous one by Beethoven.

Which song was it. Shadowman was a great game. Wasn't really long enough though. It was probably the one which I am always hearing being played by people on TV. SOmeone in a DRAMA on BBC was playing it.

Also did anyone notice that Acclaim have been copying a certain film with that game. Before anyone says it it is not se7en, American Werewolf in London or Silence of the Lambs.

I don't remember which one that was. I just said it.

Moonlight Sonata was always the best. I remember that one simply because of Shadowman. Great game.

I doubt Beethoven's 5th Symphony would be blue.

Of course I can hear letters. I can also see sound. The pleasant blues of Bethoven's 5th Symphony are fantastic. Very relaxing.
