I have an Xbox. I don't have very many games, but I have a new job so that can be solved in no time. My question is, however, is LIVE worth it?
Do you get value for money? Are the games that much better online?
I play PC games online, and I am in a clan so I do know a lot about multiplayer gaming. So my main question is:
"What makes Live special, and would you reccomend I get it?"
Thanks everyone.
Chipseh.
Anyway, personally, I think Live is about as much fun as getting stabbed in the eye with a large piece of sharp ice.
But most others disagree.
Garage, Trainyard or Airport 2 are class.
Sharpshooter, Import/Export. I came equal first despite only joining midway through the round. Think to myself that I'm back and have never lost my touch. Next two rounds were in meat packing plant. Last both times.
I hate that map. So if you want to make it to a 3,000 rating, that's where to fight/slaughter me.
I'll play you on any game you want.
That I have too, obviously.
I've yet to play you on Live. I might go on tonight, but not until after 23:00.

And yet, I still resolutely stand!
Live is the best online gaming service there is. No doubt about it. I have played PC games online since the dawn of Windows, and Mac games before that.
What Live does however is it puts everyone on a level playing field. Everyone has the same hardware, and everyone should have a decent connection. So sadly it really does come down to skill.
I also find that playing console games is more comfortable. I have my big widescreen telly and my leather recliner to play games form with my amp-cum-coffee table at my side.
Live itself is incredibly reliable. Most of the people on it are decent enough, the proportion of cheating scum is lower than with PC gaming.
And finally, the content downloads make it all worth while. I'd almost have been happy to buy a years subscription to Live just to be able to download Paris for PGR2.
I assume that if you are in a clan then you are probably a fan of FPS games primarily. We are rather blessed in that area with RS3 being the Live version of Counter Strike in the way it is ubiquitous with online gaming. Of course we do have Counter Strike as well. There are a whole bunch of others beyond that. You've seen the list of games to come.
Whether you play Live 80 hours a week or just 2, it is still fun. On the big games you can always get a game. Only one I struggle to find a match with is ESPN NHL Hockey. But then I'd totally thrash them anyway.
There is a huge variety of games as well. FPS, racing, snowboarding, ice hockey, tennis, RPG... Hell even Worms is coming to Live.
Go for it. I think the final proof of how good it really is can be seen in Tiltawhirl and Mattribute no longer being Nintendo fan boys.
