And I'm not joking, horsing around or being stupid.

I am finding myself getting more and more frustrated and angry at some of the people that inhabit these forums.

This is a friendly place where we meet to exchange ideas and swap arguments about everything and anything that comes to mind.
It's all taken in the right spirit.

Except for a couple of incidences over the past couple of days, and specifically one person.

There has been a marked increase in swearing,I dont know what's going on with the language filter but the most obscene and harsh cursing is being allowed through with no action taken against those that do this.

I'm not a prude, but I feel that on a forum where a large percentage of the users are pretty young (no offence meant), that the allowance of people to post "MotherF--- C--t" is beyond most limits set by public server forums.

However, the main complaint that I have is with a certain poster that goes by the name of Micheal Corleone/Fr!day.

This guy has been around for an age, and does nothing but heap sarcasm, rudeness and obscenities upon the posts of others, again without any sort of reprisal being issued.

I am incredibly frustrated by this, as if I could obtain this guys info, I would personally go round and punch seven shades of whatnot out of him.
I am a placid, comical guy, but when I am purposefully wound up by the same person, over and over and over, as are many others - then I lose my patience with both him and the places he chooses to post.

He offers nothing of interest, never posts any topics and merely replies with intentionally deliberate inflammatory remarks, culminating tonight in more swearing.

I'm a grown man. I could choose to ignore this person, but if I wish to continue to use these forums in the spirit in which I believe they were intended, then I cannot allow his annoyance to continue.

I dont let people talk to me like that anywhere outside of a computer forum - I react and punch them in the mouth.
That's how I deal with morons that make personal comments at me.

I can't do that on here, but I wonder why someone is allowed to post such moronic comments time and time again.
It's not just me, even SR staff have replied to his comments with anger and hostility.

So, having posted a request to remove an obscene post in the Sony section under "Gt3 Delayed" and yet, hours later, that post is still there, and having been wound up to the point of wishing to lay my hands on Corleone, I have decided to remove myself from these forums until such things have been remedied.

I am a tolerant, pleasant person but I will not allow a child to try to wind me up, without me being allowed to react in a reasonable way and knocking his teeth down his throat.

If anyone needs to check, go read the DVD forums, especially the "so many questions" thread.
Pointless, hostile attempts at nothing more than childish wit.

I refuse to allow myself to get annoyed by this and I bid Special Reserve Forums goodbye.

I will return in a couple of days to say bye to those that I have had a lot of fun with, but getting angry at a kid that needs a slap is not the way I operate.

Yeah OK. Maybe SR can set up a permanent E-mail address so when we find something we just E-mail them and it's sorted. We could also have a testing thread in the site bugs section that has explicit warnings on it not for kids to read it.

My ideas are normally about as useful as a light bulb during an earthquake, but regardless...

How about we all list the swear words that we know and the SR-Content-Checking-Guy/Girl can 'add' them to the 'list'!?

As I say, it's not brilliant, but, it'd do the job, me thinks!

Well the F-word doesn't get past, just varients. SR need to increase the varients. There is also an easy way to get round it, if someone wants to post an E-mail address I will E-mail SR and inform them of it.

If we have a stronger filter we will not be able to say anything in this forum!

ryjord is particularly offensive too. Read this:

(Remove spaces)

There are also many other examples of offensive behaviour dotted around the Sony forum.

The thing is now, that a well respected goatboy is leaving because of immature people like that carleone kid. I think that Special reserrve need to buck up there ideas and get the filter working again.

Ok, I have posted this complaint in the Bugs and Customer Service forum as well.

And, although I am aware this may result in the removal of my registration (although how homophobic and personal insults mixed with swearing are tolerated is beyond me):

Corleone/Fr!day.

I am not one of your little kid mates.
I am a grown man, not at school or college.
You insult me and I make it my personal duty to find out who you are.
Taking shots at me is one thing, but you insult my family and/or girlfriend and you forfeit any right for reasonable behaviour.

If I can find out who you are, expect a very, very angry person at your door.
You can say what you want hiding behind a computer screen, but you damn well better be able to back that up face to face.

I can take jokes and insults, what I will not stand for is a punk kid acting tough because he thinks he's anonymous.
You're not.

I apologise to Special Reserve and anybody else that posts in a reasonable manner, but there is no way that I can be expected to tolerate this sort of abuse and do or say nothing in reply.

I have, for many months, acted the fool here, made dumb jokes and entertained the merry band of Foggers.
However, all humour stops when personal insults and snide comments are made to me, time and time again and no action is taken by staff to prevent this.

Most forums do not allow racist or sexual insults, personal attacks or any other behaviour considered "inappropriate".
I have experienced this over many weeks from an 18yr child that lacks the courage to supply me with his details so that we may remedy this in an adult fashion.

It is not the easiest choice to make in refusing to partake in these forums, I have derived a lot of pleasure from swapping mindless chatter with most people here.

But when I am faced with sneering hostility and I am left with no way to act other than swearing and trying to type my frustration, I take my option as an adult in not carrying on.
