So there i am, back from HMV with a shiny copy of Heat in the bag, go upstairs and place the disc in my PS2 after unwrapping it and eventually getting the bloody thing out the case. (Whoever came up with the idea for those press down release thingy's aught to be shot)
2 seconds in and suddenly i hear this loud clicking, quickly turn off the PS2 and inspect the disc. Nothing wrong it seems so i put it in again and the clicking happens again. Turn it off and give up, deciding to put a PS2 disc in to see what happens. No clicking but a huge loading time results along with my joypad decided to turn it's analogue control off at inappropiate times. Games still work but with vastly increased loading times, a few times where i have to restart the game as it keeps going back to the browser screen and a couple of instances where the sound gets screwed up (La Pucelle Tactics, battle song gets stuck on same note all the way through even though the voices of the characters are fine)
So thank you bloody much Mr De Niro, all because i wanted to see things get blown up and shot my PS2 gets screwed up after 4 years loyal service
Alas poor PS2, we had some good times. Now to be laid to rest and for me to get a nice shiny silver one, which will actually go with the rest of my stuff

A little research and it turns out that

I got that with EverQuest Online Adventures on the PS2, it's the only game that causes clicking. A little research and it turns out that the clicking could be caused by the lens slamming against the disc as it spins around due to bad alignment/unbalanced disc whilst games/movies try to load up certain parts. I sent the disc back to SOE and got a free replacement, no more clicking.

oh dear god. i LOVED that game. it was not only one of the first but a half decent attempt at it. I vividly remember the first time i played it strangely enough on the psx. i was all out for 10 in my first innings having hit a six with graham thorpe and everyone of my players being bowled.
My mates younger brother then put us to shame with a 47...

I had that on the PSX. The comedic value of the commentary was second to none.
