I'm getting an Xbox. That's practically 99.9% certainty. I also will get Live. That's also 99.9% certainty.
However - what do I all need and stuff? Will everything I need come with this starter pack thing for Live? We'll have broadband in about a month - 2 at most - so I'll be getting it then (though I'll have my Xbox well before that). Just wondering if there's anything else I need.
And with the Xbox - is there anything I should know? Like about setup and stuff?
Cheers. Basically give me all the basics and stuff. Ta.

Alastair is a machine, but I fear that he'll hate you, like he does almost everyone else.
Oh well, I know how to make one myself now that i've been taught by uncle so it doesn't matter.
Azul, I want ask you a question but im not sure whether I want to ask you.
I will anyway.
Will you add me to your Friends List when you get Xbox Live?
[S]Dont slap me...
> I got mine for £15 and it was 15 metres long
You were ripped off.
Never pay more then a £5 for 20 Metres.
So then what you need to do is connect the Xbox to the router via a straight through ethernet cable. This is just the normal one NOT a crossover cable.
You need a starter kit as well. Well you don't if you have a free trial code in one of the games, but you should get one as it will have the headset, a demo disc and a years subscription.
You also need a valid credit card number to use the service. Couple of reasons for this, one is for downloading premium content, another is to prove where you live in case you do nasty illegal things that require Bill to send his personal assassination squad round.
With the starter kit you don't need to worry about a subscription for a year. After that year it is either £5 per month or £40 per year or you can buy another starter kit and put the number from that in it. I'm doing that now because that way I get a new headset since I dropped a table on the last one.
Any questions?
You need Halo, PGR2, RS3, ESPN NHL Hockey, Crimson Skies. All else is irrelevant, bar perhaps Ninja Gaiden and Riddick.

Does that mean NOTHING to you?
