Nothing in this gaming madhouse is a sure fire certainty. There is no certainty that Microsoft, Nintendo or Sony will succeed in the coming years until all machines are out. We cannot compare the technical specs of the machines and decide from that, to say who will succeed.
Sony is king of the heap, and I dare say the PS2 will remain the top for years to come. After being a year ahead of their rivals Nintendo and Microsoft, releasing their PS2 earlier than the namely X-Box and GameCube. Sony will always be a step ahead of everyone if they can grab the attention of gamers quickly while some of us waits impatiently for the GC and X-Box consoles to be released. Of course the catalogue of games for the PS2 will be larger and there will possibly be much more higher quality games coming out, but the GC will still have kept some fans who follow Nintendo’s favourite characters Mario, Link and with Miyamoto behind the magic he promises to bring something special.
Thing is, the warmth with which the GBA has been embraces has got everyone thinking. Why risk millions developing new consoles, when Nintendo can chuck out a relatively cheap handheld and outsell your under the telly machine? Maybe because you can’t carry your console into a lavatory for example, because you don’t have a TV in there… terrible.
Why bring top 3D games when Nintendo can bring out F-Zero and Mario Advance, which sell like hotcakes. Even though these 2 games aren’t 3D rendered they still run smoothly.
I hope the GBA will be a wake up call for a lot of people. The recent popularity of the handheld was such a devastating effect on today’s new and upcoming consoles. Yes the GBA was more powerful than it’s predecessor but from this one we could have our old SNES classics recreated.
The GBA proves that at the end of the day all the technological progress of consoles is for naught.
interesting *twiddles with his imaginery beard*
you've won many free games sniper. lets hope they didn't come from copying professionals. worse again imagine you were a professional and you were depriving the public of free games by entering winning entries using your privilaged experience and knowledge about gaming.
i'm not making any accusations by the way. perhaps the digitiser entry just triggered a few of your own thoughts.
