My Freeola Instant Site > Points to LukeM. Poke him!:)

I know how long his TODO list is!
I'll leave you all alone for a while as my recent chasing is starting to look as if I'm not happy - when I really am! :¬)

I was wondering if there can be an additional parameter on the custom mail script to include a 'proper' sent from name.
For example - if I use the following script :
mail('', 'subject', 'body', 'From: ', '-f ');
...then the recipient just see's the sender as 'admin'.
An additional parameter - something like:
mail('', 'subject', 'body', 'From: ', '-f '), '-s MySite Administrator';
would be great - unless it already exists or there is a way round this and I just don't know what I'm doing.

JTD
Freeola's normal script and my original InstantPro request are totally separate beasts just to make things clear to those just arriving.
I think you'll find with Freeola's standard formmail script if you should amend it to show the 'real' sender then currently it will only work if the email address happens to be a Freeola one!
I agree it would be a good improvement to have though!
NB. For sites where this is important many third party scripts will allow this. I can recommend the script from tectite.com that can do most things but takes a while longer to setup.

Have you had a play around this yet? I'm gonna take a little time out to see what I can come up with.

I think this is already possible by adding additional headers. After running a google search I found the guide below which should help you to do this.

You may want to delete my 'welcome' line dean5?
As I've mentioned below I think you will have currently have problems with non-Freeola email addresses.
