No, it's not you. I just have a reputation for being argumentative, and didn't want it to come across that way.

I mean more discussion, I found Warhunt's viewpoint very interesting.
Not trying to start an argument, just trying to stimulate discussion :)
Didn't realise we were arguing ?.Apologies if my answer seemed to indicate that, wasn't intended.
I was just stating my thoughts on the situation.Although as already stated I am against this war I do feel for the guys out there and families/friends who have lost loved ones in it.
I'm quite interested to hear what peeps on here think about this actually.
I still feel the

Can a war ever be fundamentally 'right'? Question open to anyone.
Not trying to start an argument, just trying to stimulate discussion :)
Does he really? Going back to Warhunt's point, I'm not sure whether or not you were old enough to vote at the time of Blair's being elected, but if you did vote for Blair, do you feel a sense
of responsibility for the war?
I was old enough to have voted at that time but I did not vote Labour so I don't feel responsible for any decisions Blair and his government made.Whatever reasons (or information) he may have had for leading us there we will probably never know but having started the process I believe he should have stayed to see it through, that was the point I was making really.I still feel the war is fundamentally wrong and I will continue to feel that way unless something comes to light to make me think otherwise.

But doesn't this highlight a flaw within our democratic system? That despite mass public outcry, our government can still do such things.

Quite an important point, people focus on the lives of our troops being lost, but aren't generally thinking about our future national security.

What do you think would have been a preferable solution to war in Afghanistan?

We base our "opinions" on the media's spin. We went in there for oil? Are you sure? I'm not. Why? Because I don't have access to the information.
Did the terrorists do something hideously wrong? Yes. That's actually all I know.
Did Tony Blair and Bush really do anything that wrong? Maybe, but I don't know. If me and pete or Hmmm.... even were in the position to make the decision, would we have? We don;t know because we don't know the actual facts.
If TB did make the wrong decision then it was really our fault, we voted him him in to make that decision for us.The problem with democracy is people forget that the Prime Minister is (or should be) their voice...... So who's really to blame....... ?
